My kids Lol when I talk about LPs or cassettes or even Cds. I told them they are lucky b/c they can DL for free from YT.
I vet music too. And so far, my 18 year old has done a bang up job picking music. I'd rather let her learn to listen to the HS instead of me saying you can listen to so and so.
I used to be really strict about music when we were in the legalistic churches, but I've sinced relaxed and now I get to enjoy music again. WE weren't even allowed to celebrate Halloween.

Since I'm a southerner and the South starts in the city where I live, this song describes a way of life that I love.

I have to admit. I only listen to Christian music. Thanks to my wife, we have a rule that it's the only thing we listen to. And it makes sense to. It's too easy to forget about God throughout the day. I need constant reminders of His presence in my life. My son's tend to sneak in the worldly music on their IPODs and other devices, but we try to show them a better way by example. And they see that. Our daughters are young and haven't known any other music.
When I was in my 20's, I got rid of all the secular music in my possession. Including my Debbie Gibson collection. I missed it. So when CDs came out, I rebought all of her albums. In my 30's, I started to bring secular music back into my life. But since my wife and I married in 2006, most of this secular music is being stored in boxes in the basement.

After I got rid of my secular music collection in my early twenties, I started to listen to Christian Heavy Metal. Yeah! My favorite band of all was WhiteCross. I got a chance to see WhiteCross live one time, but that was after most of the original band members left and all was left was the lead singer, Scott Wetzel, who brought along some other instrumentalists.

A Little White Cross trivia: Whitecross is a Christian metal band that formed in 1985 in Waukegan, IL releasing their first recording in 1987. Their early albums, which often invite comparisons to Ratt, are laced with fast, technical guitar work. In 1994, Rex Carroll split with lead vocalist Scott Wenzel. Scott retained the use of the name "Whitecross" while Rex went on to form King James with Jimi Bennett (see below). At this point the band's sound underwent a drastic change. |

Hi Guys,This is sort of like a Quiz. No prizes sorry (LOL). The Christian Pop Band who performed this is : Out of the Grey (from the Album Gravity) by Scott and Christine Dente. As a music lover I often want to know the meaning of a song. I can't find this online. I think Bird on a Wire is about a Lukewarm Christian who has no relationship with Christ. The Bird is at the Mercy of the Telephone Line it sits on and can be blown by a gale, storm, affected by Lightning etc. The key I think is the term without a prayer which makes me think it represents a Christian. But it could be a Non-Christian?  What does everyone think? Can someone Sleuth this? ?? I've got more of these to come after this............................. |
