Steve,
I did not know White Cross started in Waukegan. They are only 30 minutes from where I live right now. Rex Carroll is one of the best electric guitar players in the world.
As for the song, “Bird on a Wireâ€, some of the lyrics remind me of Jesus' closing words in his sermon on the mount.
Matthew 7:24-27
24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
So the lyrics to “Bird on a Wire†appear to be about someone who is not adhering to the words of Jesus, but instead, doing life on his/her own. He/she is not founded in Jesus.

Yes Kevin I think that's it. "You must be tired Bird on a Wire." - I think this means the person is doing everything in their own strength".....For without God we are nothing!!!!!!Thanks for the reply...

Can someone guess who sings these lyrics without going onto the Internet. It is secular but I love it because it deals with the very real subject of alcoholism and how members of a family (the children) want to forgive their Dad for drinking the whole pay away. This song is hinting on forgiveness and redemption in the eyes of a child. Hey, daddy just lost his pay What did he do it for It never made it through our door He drank the whole week away And what can a family say There must be a better way Now mama don't start to cry Let's give him another try Pick up the telephone Tell him you want him home To sit and watch the evenings pass And readin' the leaves of grass I'm caught in a closing door It's pinning me to the floor Now mama don't start to cry Let's give him another tryHINT: 1. You live there 2. They were three, now they are two 3. They have been on the road since 1970. I can send you a LIFE LINE hint if you need one more.

Thanks for your attempt Brother. Remember the first hint : You live there Drum Roll: ............The band is called.............. AMERICA and I should have said the song is called: "Another Try"America is an American rock band, formed in 1970 by multi-instrumentalists Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek, and Gerry Beckley. NOTE THE CHRISTIAN INFLUENCE ON THE REMAINING DUO IN THE BAND In May 1977 Dan Peek left the band. Peek recently had renewed his Christian faith after years of recreational drug use and had begun to seek a different artistic direction from Beckley or Bunnell. Peek contracted with Pat Boone's Lamb & Lion Records, and issued his first solo album, All Things Are Possible, in 1978 Next time we go Christian again. Steve

Hi guys Could someone have a go at creating a Music Post? This is a lot of fun but I think everyone should be given a chance to do it. So I'll take a back seat for a little while. 1. Pick a Band/Group - Preferably Christian (or Wholesome Secular) 2. Provide Band Trivia 3.Provide Lyrics & 4. Provide a Summary linking the music in with Christian Principles ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OR simply CREATE A QUIZ : Provide the Lyrics and Ask members to guess who the Pop Group or Band is. Be kind to them though. Give them a few hints (LOL) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OR ALTERNATIVELY YOU MIGHT WANT TO CREATE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FORMAT If Possible try and use the Music to have some sort of slant on Addiction itself. Above all have some Fun doing it..... Thanks Steve

Ok, I'll bite. This is an artist I started listening to when I was in High School. Still my all time favorite. Not specifically Christian as an artist, but this is definitely a song about his Christian beliefs. HINT: This artist was also a famous actor.
Title to Song: Why Me Lord.
Sample Lyrics:
Why me Lord what have I ever done to deserve even one of the pleasures I've known
Tell me Lord what did I ever do
That was worth loving you or the kindness you've shown
Lord help me Jesus I've wasted it so help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I've needed you so help me Jesus my soul's in your hand
Guesses?

Good cryptic clue brother. I'm stumped Could it be one of the following: Paul McCartney (Wings), Roger Daltry (the Who), Rodriguez, Johnny Cash, John English or Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo). If it's not, you've picked a good one and I'm done mate (LOL) .

Haven't had the chance to read all the comments yet. But have you seen the video made by Johnny Cash called "Hurt" which is about addiction?
Have you ever read his story on how he turned his back on God and got involved with drugs and promiscuity and how he almost killed himself? Long story short, he came back to Christ later on in life.
Take a look at the pain in his face in this video. His addiction destroyed his first marriage and hurt his four daughters.

BTW, It was Elvis who introduced him to drugs. Ironic, huh?! Cash commented that it was ironic that the pill had the cross on it.
