John 14:15-21 English Standard Version (ESV)
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.â€

Yesterday's Scripture was significant in my own battle, because this is about the time that I often give in, believing the lie that "the desire is building and I can't help it."
When resisted, and in this case the pull was so strong that I made a note of the exact time, and chose to turn away from it at that moment, Satan indeed fled, just like the Scripture says.
James also, in this epistle, identifies our own lusts as the source of temptation, and I really don't see a demon behind every bush; nevertheless, Scripture does identify the spiritual warfare as being very real.
Satan has thousands of more lies to throw at me, tailored to my own personality. Only by taking in and believing God's Word can I overcome.
WHO GOD IS "I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies."(Psalm 18:1-3 ESV)

Hosea ch 14 (NLT) Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for your sins have brought you down. Bring your confessions, and return to the LORD. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises. Assyria cannot save us, nor can our warhorses. Never again will we say to the idols we have made, ‘You are our gods.’ No, in you alone do the orphans find mercy.†The LORD says, “Then I will heal you of your faithlessness; my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever. I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven. Israel will blossom like the lily; it will send roots deep into the soil like the cedars in Lebanon. Its branches will spread out like beautiful olive trees, as fragrant as the cedars of Lebanon. My people will again live under my shade. They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines. They will be as fragrant as the wines of Lebanon. “O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green; all your fruit comes from me.†Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the LORD are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.

John 14:15-18 Amplified Bible (AMP)
If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever— The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you knowand recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.
I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.

Good weekend, both purity-wise and everything else wise. Busy, and a little crazy at times. Blessed. Job, in the midst of venting his agony: "I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?" (Job 31:1 ESV)

Peace...true shalom... found NOT in our crutch of choice but in Jesus. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

Thanking Abba each day for another day of peace and life. My three request for recovery are: 1. A pure heart, to be searched and allow my Abba to do in me what He sees needs to be done. 2. To do a Romans 12:1 when temptation raises it's ugly head. Lying, fear, lust, resentments, anger, deceit- verbal or in actions, pride and ego, self-pity, etc... 3. Above all things today, stay sober from self and stay connected to Him and the people He puts in my path this day. I am committed for the next 24 hours of sobriety. Just for today.DanR, the vagabond boy

Amen to that prayer.
Doing well here. Glory to God. Today: stay on the path. Walk in God's way.

Here today by Abbas great grace. Thankful for Jesus who can and does handle all my sins. For my family who will be together today, I thank Him for everything, I thank Him for what I lost. And what I have left. I'm sober by the grace and mercy of God and I pray for His presence on all who struggle for the next 24 hours. In Jesus name!

Weekend a little crazy, but blessed! We (our church) presented our Christmas cantata last night. God's help and blessing through it all.
Deuteronomy 4:6-8 (ESV)
Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?
