My hope is that you can stop, not just slow down. Porn, in any form, in any amount, is seriously harmful to us.

Did much better yesterday. My goal is definitely to eliminate all sexual sin from my life however until I get there, I plan on claiming all the victories I have (as well as failures) through my day.

Yesterday was a white knuckle day. As far as advice goes, I'm not trying to be arrogant, I could write a book on how to not indulge in sexual activities, my problem is not. lack of knowledge. I know what I should be doing, I just don't.

Yes, I know, we need willpower and 'want' to do God's Will. Psalms 51 is a great help to me and us and tells us that we need God to create a new heart in us. This new heart comes with a new mind and new attitudes (like Matthew 5-7) beatitudes.
Daily, this is our battle.

Yesterday was a white knuckle day. As far as advice goes, I'm not trying to be arrogant, I could write a book on how to not indulge in sexual activities, my problem is not. lack of knowledge. I know what I should be doing, I just don't. I'm pretty sure we could all write books on this. And if you did write one, I would love to read it. Anyways, when you say that you know what you should be doing, but don't do it, what things come to your mind when you say that? |

I’ve been meditating on what I’m feeling before I use; I’m lonely, I’m bored, I’m rejected, I’m overwhelmed. AA has a saying “this to shall pass”, I just need to acknowledge how I feel and move on. The more I concentrate on doing something else, the less reactionary acting out is becoming. I’ve also been staying off news sites because they fuel my emotions in a unhealthy way.

I know what you mean on the news stuff. I have to be asking myself first what I want to see (local news or specific new) or else ads and other darker stories get in my way.

I went to an event where the singer had on an exceptionally short skirt and I choose to concentrate on her face and the face’s of the band members, it was nice to feel free. Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

I’m working on new voices in my head because bouncing my eyes changes my action but not my desire. I haven’t figured out what those new voices should be. I need it to be more than it’s wrong because that still doesn’t eliminate the desire for the forbidden fruit. Looking is my biggest stronghold and the old voice tells me “this is what you were waiting for and if you don’t look know you may never have the chance again and your going to loose out on the excitement”. I’m not looking for advice, I’m just thinking out loud.

I understand what your saying. I'm trying to replace the wrong thought with a good one. It helps to think of God and His Word. Anything rather than the lies and poison of the enemy. God bless you brother.
