Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
I love this passage in general but seeing in light of my husbands struggles has been so eye opening. I shared this verse with him to help show how being alone in this struggle will be his continual downfall but seeking help as God leads will let light in and help in ways he has never experienced so far

I shared this verse with him to help show how being alone in this struggle will be his continual downfall but seeking help as God leads will let light in and help in ways he has never experienced so far I truly love this verse and once thought it only applied to those who are married. One day a good friend of mine explained this from a singlehood point of view. If we neglect our time with God we are only ONE. We will walk through life alone, burdened down with life's toils, often FALLING and STRUGGLING to get up (catch that). We will be cold and an easy target for the enemy. However if we choose to make God our spiritual partner things will go easier in life. We will still have TOILS, FALLS, AND STRUGGLES (That's Life), but we won't be alone, helpless, unprotected,...Also if somewhere along the way we find another believer to add to the FOLD---Then our cord is that much tighter. Thank you for helping me to remember this verse of Scripture.

Psalm 3New International Version (NIV) Psalm 3 A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.
1 Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! 2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8 From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
Wonderful Scripture to get down on the inside of you. We need to remember that without God nothing is possible not even lifting our heads. God makes everything we do, everything we are and everything we have possible. Without God we would still be dust. With God we have nothing to fear...after all what is the worst that can happen to us through man? Death would just bring us home. Physical hurts will heal and mental hurts will heal (if we give them to God). So do not fear my sisters and brothers! He who is in us is greater then he who is in the world.

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.” Matthew 1:18-25 Merry Christmas! These verses remind me what's most important: Jesus!

1 John 2 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[d] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed and to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners;

I appreciate those verses... They are reminders to not focus on my immediate circumstances, but to use my energy to move forward- focused on serving Christ.
Thank you, guys....

I have Psalm 19:13 posted on the door to my room. 13 Also, stop your servant from wanting to sin. Do not let sin rule over me. Then nobody will say that I did wrong. I will be clean (because you help me). I will not do anything very bad.
This translation is from Easy English and it isn't a bad version. You get the idea of the verse.

This is the You Bible verse for today.
I love how God wants us to focus on the good stuff. :-)
“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16 NLT

The daily verse for today... God sees everything we do. Everything. We are in the last days. We must push forward to make our time count. :-) “For the LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.” Proverbs 5:21 NLT bible.com/116/pro.5.21.nlt

Philippians 4:8-9New Living Translation (NLT)
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
It's easy to gloss over the 9th verse... Keep putting into practice... Keep on keepin' on... Take action when you feel like giving up... Peace is available to us all.
Today is a new day! It's gonna be great. :-)

2 Cor 12
8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
This speaks to me of my recovery process. It was only when I admitted my weakness and went to God that I had the strength to overcome. It is through God that we are able to overcome our sins and weaknesses.

Two of my favorite verses on repentance are found in
JEREMIAH 4:1 & JOEL 2:12.
I especially like Joel because God says, "Even now...." God sees our screwup jobs and our defiant nature and still calls for us to return to him. What a compassionate Father.

One of the Names of God is El Roi which means The God who Sees Me. Boy if that doesn't knock you flat on your face! He sees everything...every sin. There is no hiding from Him. Imagine Him watching what you are seeing and doing and knowing what you are thinking. Will Be be disgusted, disappointed, and hurt...or will He say well done?
