You know brother I was diagnosed with Major depressive disorder and I have trouble with my memory and mostly because of being abused sexually and molested since the age of 5 or 6 not exactly sure but I remember the first abuse like if it was yesterday and sometimes the torment comes and I have issues of depression. I have only found for myself that isolation is my worst enemy and keeping quiet is so bad. I have confessed to my husband my battles about the thoughts about suicide that sometimes have come to me or the thoughts of self hate. I am glad I am better but even when I think I am completely fine the thoughts want to creep back in. I refuse to believe those thoughts I hold them captive to the obedience of Christ. I am glad for God and the bible and Jesus and his people. I thank God for all of you. I had two attempts against my life years ago One as a teen and one as a single mother of two. I am glad I did not succeed. As a child I believed no one loved me, I was ugly and worthless. I felt even worse when stripped of my virginity because being from a hispanic culture if you are not a virgin you are worth nothing. When I came to Christ I was given a chance to be adopted by Christ and become once more a virgin in Gods eyes a new creation and I felt brand new. I lived with a newness and I appreciated my life and learned to live for Christ when we take our eyes off of God we look at our lives we see our imperfections and when we look at Christ we see his Glory. What would we rather see? I rather see his glory.

Thank you for your testimony Sister in the Faith. It is powerful an very heart breaking but what you have been through has made you, and will continue to, a very strong person. It is such a blessing that you have decided to help people in the same area of where you were hurt. Jesus said in the bible if anyone harms any of these children (sitting on his lap) it would be better, at the end of the times, that they have never been born. The concept of the innocence of young children and that we must be like them to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is used in so many instances in the Bible. Remember Sister do not go by Man's stand. You are God's child, washed, innocent and pure in his eyes.

Entry for Strong's #8441 - תּï‹×¢Öµ×‘ָה
Strong's #8441: tow`ebah (pronounced to-ay-baw') or tonebah {to-ay-baw'}; feminine active participle of 8581; properly, something disgusting (morally), i.e. (as noun) an abhorrence; especially idolatry or (concretely) an idol:-- abominable (custom, thing), abomination.
Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon: ּ / ּ tô‛êbah 1) a disgusting thing, abomination, abominable 1a) in ritual sense (of unclean food, idols, mixed marriages) 1b) in ethical sense (of wickedness etc) Part of Speech: noun feminine Relation: active participle of H8581
As I was researching the word detestable in this passage, the Hebrew word is also interpreted as abominable and disgusting. In Levitucus 18, the same Hebrew word is used to describe:
Adultery Fornication Sexual relations with a relative (including uncovering their nakedness) Sexual relations with a spouse of your relative (including uncovering their nakedness) Sexual relations with a beast Sexual relations with someone of the same gender.
And that's straight out of the Word of God.

Hebrew. How long have you done it? It fascinating - I know one can really analyse the Bible with Hebrew and Greek.

No, I'm not a Hebrew scholar. A few years ago, my wife got me a Hebrew/Greek Bible for Christmas. I used it to defend my beliefs while we were attending a church who's beliefs were a bit off. Greek is a lot easier to read and understand. It's perfectly phonetic.
My bible is pretty thick and bulky. I'll usually leave it at home unless I feel the teaching from church is really good or really bad. For the past 6 months, we found a good church with a great pastor. And every time he preaches, I make sure I bring it along.

Bringing Hebrew and Greek into this analysis can only enhance the analysis. The word of God is a vital weapon against these Detestable things. Demons will flee, Satan is flawed in the presence of Scripture.

I've read that Steven King listens to hard Rock when he writes his Satanic books. That kinda brings home the other thread about how music affects our spirit.
I watched Pet Cemetary when I was 16, and I had nightmares and it is one of his mildest books/movies.
I don't like horror movies/TV shows. They bother my spirit.

Steve Wow! you make such a great point I never knew all this. To tell you the truth I did not think of it and I can see you are right. A while ago I tried to use that word to turn my hubby on but instead it created a look of chock! I was somewhat embarrassed since we do not say bad words Usually. We try to refrain from the use of bad words. I did feel a little creative and wanted to see what would happen. We all make mistakes right? Thanks so much for sharing this. It is very smart and it is a great way to explain it. God bless!
