I don't have any pets. I love animals, but I live with my grandma and she doesn't like animals. I used to have two cats back when I lived with my mom, but they have both died in the last year (one was really old I got him when I was 5, and the other died from cancer) I honestly can't stand going back to my moms house, I always call my cats names or expect them to run to me when I open the front door, but than I remember after awhile that they aren't around anymore.

I got a Calico kitten almost two years ago and her name is Callie. The blanket I brought her home in she still sucks on before she falls asleep wrapped in it.
We went back three days later and got her sister whose name is Shadow.
My oldest picked out a Shi Tzu the same day we got Callie. Then, my hubby picked out a cat from a great Catholic family that was fostering a feral male Tuxedo cat who lays on the floor and plays with the Shi Tzu.
We also have an older dog name Moses who is a purebred Yorkie. We had to put down our female Yorkie b/c she got some kind of skin condition.
I wish I could post some pics. Is that allowed here on BG??

For some reason, it's not letting me edit.
The Tuxedo's name is Noah.
They all three go crazy if we open up a can of tuna.
We also buy them expensive bagged foot which is free of animal byproducts and grain. Remember when that Chinese made dog foot was killing off dogs? We buy the same brand for the dogs and even Callie loves the dog food. One time, as a kitten, she was sitting on the dog food and the two dogs wanted to eat.
They are fun to watch and they are great therapy for Trauma. Callie will curl up with me or my son in the afternoons.

Good for you to have animal companions, or more like family sometimes. I have a greyhound rescue dog. They sleep a lot and hardly ever bark. Kinda nice that way.

Pets are great therapy IMO. We are getting another kitten tomorrow for my oldest who turned 18 on March 6th. Actually, they asked us to take the brother too so now, we'll have five cats Lol.
It's official, I am the crazy cat lady. We're picking them up tom.
And I'll put Callie back on my avatar later this week.

Actually, we'll be picking them up today.
They'll meet us halfway cause it's a 180 miles away. The female is black and her brother is a tuxedo cat.
My mom and former stepfather built a house on almost thirty acres and the Australian Cattle Dog didn't want to leave the land we built on b/c the farm land was broken up. She was older and would growl at you if you tried to pet her. Than. once she got used to us, she adopted us as her family. The farmer however, had to eventually take her home and she was so lost w/o the cattle. He fell down into a silo and hurt his back and had to quit farming.
That was up in WI The Frozen Tundra. I now live in the South were we have sane weather Lol.

Greyhounds are beautiful.
We are going to get two more kittens today. They are brother and sister. We were just going to take the girl for my oldest for her 18th birthday but they asked us if we want both and we said sure!
We're going to pick them up tonight. We now have five cats LOL!
The tortoise musta been cool. Did he look like Ted Kennedy lol??

I am not sure about the Australian Shepard. I know he finally had to put her to sleep b/c she was old and wouldn't stay across the street where he built his new house. She wanted to stay on the land where the cows used to be. And he was afraid she would hurt one of us.
I think she was so sad to see the farm get sold off. A young couple bought the 100 year old farmhouse and my mom and stepdad built a ranch next door.

BTW, I love in Virginia and my hubby and I would love to visit Australia.
I often thought about travelling. I would love to buy a sailboat and sail around the world when we retire.
There was 14 year old who took two years sailing around the world. It watched a docu on it on Netflix.
I don't like what is happening in our country and it reminds me of 1930s Germany. I have often thought of places I would send my children if need be and Australia would be high on my list.
Or, I'm ready to die for what I believe in. Off topic, but the military is doing drills in five states and that's forbidden in the Constitution. I'm watching a true story on Netflix about the first spy ring during the Rev. War. Everything happened then is happening again now.

The girl is all black and her brother is black with white paws. They are so cute.

Pets are also good therapy. They reduce stress.
My Callie cuddles up with the blanket we brought her home in and sleeps with me.
