My first pet was a tortoise. Looked like an elderly statesman.

how sweet! tortoises are fun
what did you feed it?
I wanted a dog.. dad wouldnt let me... i think part of it is probably because of the hurt that he had since he had to eat the dog he raised during the hardship times that followed the great leap forward movement, yes ironic isnt it. it was backwards.
God bless!
i will continue praying for you guys
keep clean!

Well, anyone who has been bored enough to read my profile knows that it is cats. We did have one dog when I was in my teens, a shelty/border collie mix, who was sweet and very smart. We also had a number of rabbits and gerbils. For quite a while we took in monarch caterpillars because the birds would eat the cocoons. It is a remarkable process to let the newly hatched butterfly's tickly feet cling to your finger while it pumps the moisture from its wings, walk up and down your arm once it is strong enough to be upright, then exhilarating as it soars in to the air to start the cycle anew.
And did I mention cats? :-)

ahh reminds me, i raised some chickens (little chicks) and a hen. I remember when i saw our cook take it and kill it
and the chicks later died as a source of my meal, my parents lied and said the eagle snatched them away during the night...
then i had 2 pigeons, one of them got sick.. so we sent them to our friend's house as a source of food...
also, when i was young i scared dogs!! as i grew older they scared me, not as much anymore now though... After all, she has a dog and it is a quite cute pup , so furry!

Geeky, how terribly sad to hear your pets became meals. What part of the world was that? Was your family very poor? I hope you don't mind my asking.

China, and i think my parents raised them with the intent of eating them, just didn't keep me away from them before the slaughter...
it was so fun watching them eating while i fed them...
God bless! everything happens for a good reason
I will continue praying for you guys
feeling tempted right now, please pray for me, thanks!

How lovely, I would love to have a turtle/tortouise for a pet...maybe one day soon. I have lots of turtles, soft, cuddly and ornamental turtles in our home but no real ones yet!
We do however have 2 dogs, 1 small and 1 large. 1 rabbit and 1 guinea pig at the moment. I have always loved animals and it is great for the children.

I have a dog named Niu2, He is so cute!!! when I got home from work, he would wag his tail and go to me, begging to have a rub on his head. He is a bit small, only as high as 50 cm, yet ferocious! he attacked my neighbour's dogs, my guests, even my maid, and my brother! yet so gentle when he comes to me and my sisters.
I just love that dog...

i've had many animals in my life. right now, i have a wonderful mutt dog, a hamster and a goldfish. my dog is so cute and has the best personality. he has a big round belly and short legs. it's so funny to watch him run.
i had a demon dog on time. he must have come from a puppy mill. he hated me and everyone else for that matter. he was a poodle but he had the temperament of a rabid pittbull. he loved to clean my cats litter box (if you know what i mean). he freaked out if he saw anyone looking at him. i loved him though, it was hard but i did.
