When you go to a doctor, the doctor will tell you that you have something killing you, something wrong, he shows you the xray, the mri, and offers treatment and surgeries.
When we go to Jesus, Jesus tells us the truth of our illness, but you have to know first that the intent of Jesus telling us...is love, love for the sinner.
"I have not come to call the righteousness to repentance, but sinner"
"It is not the healthy that need a doctor but the sick"
You and I and us...we are that. sinners. sick.
do you admit to that sickness? I do.
Next step, we are not able to help ourselves but only Jesus, like a sick patient goes to the hospital.
What shall we do?
do you really want to know how bad the illness is? if it hurts to know, even?
would you want a doctor who will smooth coat the "hey you have cancer" into "well, there are slight imperfections" ...etc...
Not me, how about you? I need the truth because it's that, the truth, that will set us free.
Now, there is nothing in my own words that will help you, but you read this and let it sink. I do this too.
Do I have other gods? If I am seeking something (aka s.x) more than God, then would that which I seek after...is that a god?.......no, but i seek it (aka s.x) as a god, which is really a false god, an idol.
We have an idol in our hearts. (s.x / human body)
So our doctor (God aka Jesus) has shown you and me, that we are sick with a disease of idolatry. We are not really just addicted to p and m. It's hiding as 'idolatry'
Next, question from our God.
'“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. '

Do you or I, make for ourselves and image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below?
If we look at p ..that is an image (screen, tv, computer, iphone, android, tablet, etc) of some other women or man's naked body parts and we are making the image of them into our minds and hearts.
Have we done that? yes
Why am I trying to make you look guilty? or sick? or anything?
I am not trying to make you look guilty. or sick. I am using the Word of God to reveal to us what exactly is wrong with us.
The Doctor (God) has used just two commands to reveal our sin of idolatry.
Let's skip the next 8 commands for now and jump to Matthew 5:27-30
Jesus said
' “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. '

So when we lust after a woman or a man, lust is really committing adultery.
The world will say that p and m is ok, but Jesus says that p is really lusting which is really adultery.
We have a choice now.
Whose standard are we going to choose?
one doctor (world) says Nothing wrong
The Doctor (Jesus) says "Everything wrong" aka adultery, cheating on God, losing faith in God, hurting God's temple, your body, watching other people hurting and abuse their own bodies, and also we cheat on our wives, just by watching other men and women commit lust acts which is idolatry and adultery.
Question: Do I accept that (what I just read) as the truth? I do accept it. What about you.

God's Wrath is the "blazing furnace" and we will get weeping and gnashing of teeth.
If you were feel that, picture that a little bit, God's Word is telling us, what is happening to those already in that place of a blazing furnace and weeping
and it will be for everlasting and everlasting

The doctor is giving you the cure, "forgiveness of sins" for "free" "justified freely".........wow,
Do you want it? I do, yes, 100% I do.
Why?
Because #1, I deserve the blazing furnace and weeping and gnashing of teeth...

#2....God was loving to me, a sick man, to punish Jesus, His Own Son, in my place, for my sins.
Redemption
Please pause and pray to God and just confess, forsake the sins, and evil ways and evil thoughts (our spiritual cancer) and in desperation cry out for help and keep asking God until you get it.
Jesus said "ask, knock, ...and the door would be open"

Why do we repent? It's because God's goodness,

yes, it is...that why we give up trying to do in our power, and cry to God and depending on him, waiting on Him in prayers, Bible readings, brotherly fellowship, and try to get out of the current situation..
run or fight.
when you fight, tell Satan, to "get behind you" in the "name of Jesus" and use any of God's promises...See Matthew 4. that is our prime example.
This really is a spiritual war and with Jesus, it (our sobriety, our walk with God, ) is possible.
