One of pastor's sermon points - God's gradual work in a life (Nicodemus)
John 3:1-9 came by night, knew there was some real in Jesus 7:47-51 knew that Jesus at least deserved a fair hearing 19:38-39 assisted in burial of Jesus' body (I kinda think now he was a true disciple!)
God is patient with me, but still at work!

Never ending battle. If we licked this there would be something else to deal with. Keep pressing on brother!
1 Corinthians 10:12,13(NIV) 12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Yes, Amen!
Doing OK, life has been stressful, but God is keeping me strong.
From today's reading, Matt. 21:21-22 - Jesus challenges us to ask big things and believe. John later clarifies - we area to ask according to God's will, and I'm sure that is implied here, but the challenge remains. What mountains would I like Jesus to cast into the sea today?

John 8:10-11 from the CSB
10 When Jesus stood up, He said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11 "No one, Lord," she answered. "Neither do I condemn you," said Jesus. "Go, and from now on do not sin any more."
May I realize that the power is in the command! When Jesus told a man, Rise, pick up your bed, and walk, the miracle was there! As he obeyed that command, he found Jesus had healed him!

Shalom Saved by Grace!! Great to see you are on here and going strong!
Was just thinking of the woman caught in adultery passage the other day. A lot of people think what the Lord wrote in the dirt were the 10 Commandments. As the accusers read a Command that they themselves were guilty of breaking, they dropped their stones and walked away, basically admitting they needed God's forgiveness too, and as they needed it, they could not accuse the woman. As they all needed His forgiveness as well, the Lord then was free to forgive the woman. AMAZING!!!!

the verses on the rapture are sobering verses for me. not that i'm trusting in my own works but only in the work of Jesus Christ death for my sins on the cross. The works show that I am truly believing.

Colossians 1:9-14 New Living Translation (NLT)
So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Deuteronomy 1:21 New Living Translation (NLT)
Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; 3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion-- to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.
What Messiah would come to do, written by Isaiah, Isa. 61:1-3

Trying to share a little from this morning's sermon....
John 8:31-32 English Standard Version (ESV) So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ! Abide - to stay or remain in a place. In this case, in the Word of God!
All freedom has conditions.
Knowing the truth is a result of abiding in Jesus' word and being a true disciple.
And finally, the result of THAT is that the truth will set us free.
SIN enslaves us all. "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." (Gal. 5:1 ESV)
"So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty." James 2:12 ESV Note: the law of LIBERTY!!! God's law is actually to set us free!!!!
Whatever it is, we are to place it all at the feet of the God who breaks chains.
