Monday! John 14:15-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you."

Hey SBG, Thanks for sharing. Sorry about the reset. But congrats on the 26 days. For me, milestones (1 month, 3 months, 1 year, etc.) seem to drive me nuts. My last relapse was after 28 days. It's like I'm afraid of success. Anyways, I'm glad you decided to never give up. We don't give up, ever. For me, relapse comes with a learning experience. Any thoughts on what God might be teaching you during this experience?

Day 2 can be discouraging. All kinds of negative thoughts easily take over. Including the idea to just give in to temptation. In His mercy and grace, God came to meet me in the midst of those thoughts, reminding me of something from the Easter music our choir is working on, the basic idea being, Why should I stay in the grave when the stone has been rolled away? So God took that and some other thoughts and lifted my discouraged spirit. This is a good and beautiful day. Thank you Jesus forever and ever and ever!

God is good. He actually loves us!🧐. “Why should I stay in the grave when the stone has been rolled away? ” Beautiful 👍 Keep fighting brother! There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 - NKJV I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:16-18 -NKJV NKJV

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36 ESV)
With this, and with Scriptures given to me above, I need to start realizing and believing that God fully and totally means exactly what He says.

I'm not in a church that observed Lent, but the basic idea is so important: 40 days of self-discipline to prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday!
