I also have difficulties when I get past 3 weeks. If I can learn to practice 1 Cor. 10:13 and busy myself with the way of escape God shows me..... then by day's end I find a wonderful satisfaction and peace. Then, the next AM, it may be the same battle all over again. I must tell myself, THIS TOO SHALL END. God is going to bring me to a good place where the battle is not so difficult. I believe that. Thanks SBG, Amy and Kevin. Yep. It passes. God is good. He has given us the power to say no! Whether we use it or not is the problem:( 23! |

On day 27. Things still catching my eyes but not focusing on them. It's hard to not feel guilty for things catching my eyes. I just have to watch where my mind and imagination goes with it after that. I am a man and God did create me this way but sin has corrupted it.

Don't let the guilt turn into condemnation. Stay focused on our Lord. You are doing great! Sounds like you have learned that you have to watch where your mind goes. That is a major key in this battle.

Day 30. One day at a time like I said in a previous post. Things kept popping up on the internet and movies. Just kept moving on but was tempting. Only one was porn..wasn't looking for it but it showed up on what was suppose to be a male supplement site i think. Actually angered me. Was having a problem looking at real life women. Had to reel myself back in and tell myself no!!!

Doing well not acting out online. It is the battle of the mind and eyes now out in public. The quick runs to the store for supplies you know. Eventually I catch myself and say "no..you can't do that.. or stop it"!
Reading SBG's journal brought this verse to mind.

Wasn't looking for it. Doing my nightly surfing on Kodi box. Got caught up in some soft porn on a couple cable channels. No masturbation. I was doing well at passing by it if it came up but for some reason this time I lingered and it got me. I seriously need to stop surfing that Kodi box. It's obviously a problem and trap for me. I am putting entertainment before God's will for me.

Jake, it sounds like TV, Movies, and online are real triggers. If you know this, then just cut it off. At least for a year or longer. Make a commitment to follow Jesus by reading the Bible, listening to worship songs.
I know because I can't browse movies because the covers are triggering for me. I can't watch TV news because there are too many attractive women and I am not ready/strong. When my wife puts on the TV news, and an attractive women is talking. My flesh mind is automatically attracted to her then I am reminded that lusting after her beauty is against the Bible and is sin and is adultery. So I turn away. I ask God for help, and look away. Do it for Jesus. Ask Him for help.
Dear God, please help Jake with his walk and give him the strength he needs to follow you Lord. I need your help too Lord. Please help us all. In Jesus' name. Amen.
