Last fall, preceded by others, was 8-17-19. My main issues are with P & M, but I know it starts in my heart and mind first. Been doing well sense. Need battle plan though. Working on that. Tired of back and forth!!

If you are serious, please talk with your pastor and maybe quit all online activity for a while. I can send you my contact info if you want too.

I got fed up with the back and forth also. Did that for a year. Then I got mad and that made me get serious. I had to stop going online except to pay bills for a few months. You also need to get used to going to Christ every time a wrong thought enters your mind. I also had to stop watching T.V. and listening to secular music. Boy the push back I got from my family on those 2 items. I would call out the inappropriateness of what they were watching and listening too. God won. Now my family immediately turns the T.V. over if anything sexual comes on and we only listen to Christian music.

Thanks Amy and Dominic. Way back probably 1999 or 2000 is when this secret issue of mine got exposed to my wife. Like I said she got tired of hearing my confessions and I found a Faithful and True group at a local church. After awhile found victory for about 2 years. Thought I had it under control and left the group. Crept back in. Had a very stressful job. And my inconsistency kicked in. Eventually went back to the group. Now the group is down to 3 of us. It is pretty much just a how is your week going thing. We confess our falls to each other but no hard accountability like "Hey! How is your walk with Christ going? How is your prayer life? Are you spending time in the Word?" We have been through many books and programs and authors on this subject. Just kind of ran out without repeating some which we have.
I have talked to pastors before. I have been serious and victorious before. But my inconsistency usually kicks in.

Thanks SGG! I have been considering finding a accountability partner who has not had these issues so they wouldn't be held back. But where to find such a person only God knows who that would be. From my experience and others is that would be a rare man to find. Most men are in denial or hiding there sin.
Anyway. Holding out and watching out. I know when the temptations start creeping in (and they will) I need to fall to my knees before God with no hesitation. Wait! I need to do that daily before the temptations! Closer to God...farther from sin!

I need to do that daily before the temptations! Closer to God...farther from sin! Yes, here we can be accountable. And my record has been a really sorry one. And as you say above, it's a day by day battle. Claiming God's promises in His Word. In my case, learning to believe God even when I'm in that "zone" where it feels like I am powerless over it. He is the strong one!!! Hebrews 2:18 King James Version (KJV) 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Hebrews 4:16 King James Version (KJV) 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Keeping these besetting sins out in the open is best.
I had a strange experience about a month ago where right in the middle of searching, looking, downloading where I shouldn't be God came to me in a gentle loving way. I heard in my head Him saying something of this sort "you can stop this". I listened. Usually when I'm this far gone I don't listen. But this time I did. The temptation went away and He gently helped me back out and delete everything without getting re-tempted.
I actually was re-tempted a couple days later and was trying to look up stuff and download and my computer and software started acting up and it seemed the internet to my pc only went out.
God is there even in the middle of it! A loving Father! Not looking to bash me in the head but to pull me away from those things that stop my fellowship with Him.
Thanks for the scriptures SBG!!

Thanks for those examples!
So even when Satan has us convinced that we can't, God has the last word.

Yes Sir.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Well, this is a very interesting verse!
The problem with it though is pulling it out of context which is running away (Fleeing) Idolatry.
1Co 10:1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; 1Co 10:2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 1Co 10:3 and all ate the same spiritual food; 1Co 10:4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ. 1Co 10:5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well-pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness. 1Co 10:6 Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they also craved. 1Co 10:7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, "THE PEOPLE SAT DOWN TO EAT AND DRINK, AND STOOD UP TO PLAY." 1Co 10:8 Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day. 1Co 10:9 Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents. 1Co 10:10 Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. 1Co 10:11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 1Co 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. 1Co 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 1Co 10:14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. (NASB)
When I think about my sins I am astounded by the amount I'm plagued with.
And when it comes to an accountability partner it is true it can be a very daunting task.
Finding someone who does not gossip (another sin we can be plagued with.) nor shares what they have been told, only comes about by knowing intimately that person. I should know, I've tried finding someone in the church to no avail.
They either turn away with prejudice or they turn on you.
This site is specifically geared to the sexual sins we are plagued with which carries its own problems. Let us attempt to keep in touch if you like and we shall see.
Feel free to ask what you will and I will try to answer. Virgil

The forms of idolatry are, Fetishism, or the worship of trees, rivers, hills, stones, etc. Nature worship, the worship of the sun, moon, and stars, as the supposed powers of nature. Hero worship, the worship of deceased ancestors, or of heroes.
But more than idolatry was mentioned in the context of the chapter.
Just the way I see it. I know many verses are taken out of context for the wrong reasons. I just don't see it here,
"When I think about my sins I am astounded by the amount I'm plagued with." For sure! This is just one of many sins that plague me also.
Yes finding a brother to confide in and be faithful is not an easy task. I have been blessed to have a few but some have moved away and all were struggling with various sexual issues.
Thanks for making yourself available Virgil. Yes lets stay in touch.

Let my imagination and lustful fantasies go which ended in "M". Can't let one thought go unchecked. Always leads to more thoughts unchecked. Then closer to the rabbit hole.
