Intro: Many have named themselves as Christian's yet still continue in sexual sins. This is God's Word on this matter.
How to get "the fear of the LORD"
Proverbs 2:1-6 CSB My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, [2] listening closely to wisdom and directing your heart to understanding; [3] furthermore, if you call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding, [4] if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, [5] then you will understand the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God. [6] For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 16:6 CSB Iniquity is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the LORD.
Proverbs 28:13 CSB The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.
Know the danger and consequences of your sins.
Proverbs 5:20-23 CSB Why, my son, would you lose yourself with a forbidden woman or embrace a wayward woman? [21] For a man's ways are before the LORD's eyes, and he considers all his paths. [22] A wicked man's iniquities will trap him; he will become tangled in the ropes of his own sin. [23] He will die because there is no discipline, and be lost because of his great stupidity.
Proverbs 7:24-27 CSB Now, sons, listen to me, and pay attention to the words from my mouth. [25] Don't let your heart turn aside to her ways; don't stray onto her paths. [26] For she has brought many down to death; her victims are countless. [27] Her house is the road to Sheol, descending to the chambers of death.
Matthew 5:27-30 CSB "You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery. [28] But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. [29] If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. [30] And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Hebrews 10:26-31 CSB For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, [27] but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries. [28] Anyone who disregarded the law of Moses died without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. [29] How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, who has regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know the one who has said, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge his people. [31] It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 CSB Don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or males who have sex with males, [10] no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God's kingdom.
Revelation 21:8 CSB But the cowards, faithless, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars-their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."
Possible to become unable to repent anymore.
Hebrews 12:16-17 CSB And make sure that there isn't any immoral or irreverent person like Esau, who sold his birthright in exchange for a single meal. [17] For you know that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, even though he sought it with tears, because he didn't find any opportunity for repentance.
Warning.
2 Peter 2:19-22 CSB They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them. [20] For if, having escaped the world's impurity through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first. [21] For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them. [22] It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and, "A washed sow returns to wallowing in the mud."
If a Christian says, "but there is grace" in order to make you feel like it's ok to keep falling into sexual sins. Watch out.
2 Timothy 3:5 CSB holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people.
2 Timothy 2:12 CSB if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us;
2 Timothy 2:19 CSB Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.
Do you really know God and His Grace. If you do, these are things that will be evident in your life.
Titus 2:11-15 CSB For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, [12] instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, [13] while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. [14] He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works. [15] Proclaim these things; encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Godly sorrow produces the kind of repentance that leads to life.
Romans 2:4 CSB Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
2 Corinthians 7:10 CSB For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly grief produces death.
Psalm 51:4 CSB Against you-you alone-I have sinned and done this evil in your sight. So you are right when you pass sentence; you are blameless when you judge.
Psalm 51:5,9-17 CSB Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me. [9] Turn your face away from my sins and blot out all my guilt. [10] God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. [11] Do not banish me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. [12] Restore the joy of your salvation to me, and sustain me by giving me a willing spirit. [13] Then I will teach the rebellious your ways, and sinners will return to you. [14] Save me from the guilt of bloodshed, God - God of my salvation- and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. [15] Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. [16] You do not want a sacrifice, or I would give it; you are not pleased with a burnt offering. [17] The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. You will not despise a broken and humbled heart, God.
Difficult Topics:
looking at a women with lust, masterbation, looking at pornography, are all sexual immorality. these are all sexual immorality.

Sunday... a good day! Today I am uninstalling CovenantEyes and replacing it with PluckEye. No system is perfect, of course, but I think this will help me. Ok I saw the uninstall code being generated and wondered what was going on. How will this new program help you? I know covenant eyes wasn't keeping you from looking at inappropriate sites. Will this program do that?

It will try to. Of course, no filter is perfect, but CE made it way too easy. I ended up choosing the AFO filter (American Family Online).
The thing I want to avoid is this huge pull of evil if I sit at the computer and have time alone. Even when I resist it, it's there. I want my computer times to ALWAYS be associated with good things, whether I'm paying bills, researching some topic, or even using Facebook. Thankfully, due the many Christian friends I have on FB, those are good times, not bad.

Keep reading the Bible when you wake. Ask God to give you a willing spirit. Cry out to God for real and depend in Him to bring you through this.

Psalm 85 English Standard Version (ESV) Revive Us Again To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
85 LORD, you were favorable to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. 2 You forgave the iniquity of your people; you covered all their sin. Selah 3 You withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger.
4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! 5 Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? 6 Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? 7 Show us your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.
8 Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. 9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. 11 Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. 12 Yes, the LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. 13 Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way.

On a 3x5 card for today: portions of psalm 86, part of which says,
"In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me....Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name." (from ESV)

The 3x5 card idea is something I need to continue - a visual reminder of my morning commitment to live for God each day.
Today's, from Our Daily Bread, is the wonderful passage in Ephesians 3:14-21. It was too long to write on the card, so I wrote the reference.
Ephesians 3:14-21 English Standard Version (ESV)
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Not to sound crazy but put some heavy scriptures on there. These help me, I'm not sure they help you. I have always been helped/rebuked so I always get the heavy ones from my wife. I'm not saying what you are doing that is bad though. I just picture God and God's wrath and use the weightier scriptures. I think it helps me stay in the fear of the Lord.

Yes, heavy problem -heavy Scripture
2 Corinthians 1:20 English Standard Version (ESV)
20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

For me to carry with me today....
Proverbs 18:10 King James Version (KJV) The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
The problem I have had with this is to totally under-estimate God's power to protect and shield me. His NAME represents all that He is!!! The God of infinite strength and love. I will indeed be safe if I stay in that tower until the storm passes.
