Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
-Psalm 96:1-6 ESV

A new day!
To quote one of my Mom's favorites.....
This is the day the LORD hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Familiar Scriptures encouraging me today. They never lose their power.
Romans 6:11-14 (ESV)
So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

Scripture from 100 Days on the Road to Grace....
Psalm 101:3 (NASB) I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me.
I need a fierce determination to do what this says, and stop believing the sugar-coating Satan puts on it all. By God's grace to stand strong, in His strength alone.

Wow, that number occurs so many times!
So I see it as a milestone. Something to encourage me, BUT TO NOT LET DOWN MY GUARD. To hold onto the lessons learned and continue to apply the same principles.
Zechariah 4:6 (ESV) Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts."

Numbers hold a lot of meaning in the bible.
You are right about not letting your guard down. I still have to guard against inappropriate thoughts and be vigilant about what I let my eyes see and my ears hear. It does get better. It's more like an automatic response because of the time I have put in practicing it...but I am still vigilant.

In Exodus chapter 17, the Jews were up against an enemy they were totally unable to defeat in human strength. (Actually I guess that's pretty much their story through the whole Old Testament! Their very survival as a nation was dependent upon their relationship with the living God!)
Anyway, it took 4 obedient leaders, each doing his part, to open the way for God's mighty power over the enemy:
Exodus 17:10-13 (ESV) So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword.
So we support each other in the battle!

1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV) No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Proven true again! Once I got busy with the stuff God had for me to do, things were great. Thank you Jesus for your promises.

Worry and fear can easily tempt us back to our "medication" of choice.
We must run to our Savior, who deeply cares.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. -1 Peter 5:7

For today, God is using the little Our Daily Bread devotional to help and guide me: odb.org/2018/11/01/compassion-fatigue-2/The needs of this world truly are overwhelming. And Jesus tells us to pray that God will sent laborers to his harvest. For me, praying seems like so little, like I'm not really helping, but God commands me to do it. It's a prayer straight from Him. Therefore, I can be assured that He will answer it. Secondly, , by walking with God and staying pure this day, I'm in a position for Him to use me to reach out to others in my own little world. So may I walk with Him today and allow His Spirit to use me in whatever way He chooses.

I am still finding daily (or almost) posting to be of help. I recognize that I am an extremely weak Christian, and this is a kind of accountability that seems to help.
For today, Isaiah 40 was a huge encouragement. Both for comfort and strength.
More personal info: my wife knows of the struggle in general but not every fall. She is very strong in the conviction, Sorry is as sorry does. Before this period of victory I am now in, I was only making it a couple weeks at a time. Even now, I would hate to say I'm doing so great and then fall flat on my face.
But there are big differences, and I think she can see it.
Anyway, that's where I am now. And I'm thankful to God for each day.

The various troubles we go through day by day are common to us all! We must keep on keeping on, trusting and obeying.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (ESV) Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
