The Lord has healed me. My bowels are working correctly! So I get to go to church today! Praise God!
The below video made me cry. I seem to cry more lately seeing how God is working in me and in others.

Church was great! They had baby dedications. 4 young ones under 6 months old. So wonderful to see!
Something I have been mulling over. What was it that finally got me to turn away from porn for good? The answer was unexpected. It was hatred. I hated the after effects of porn more than the fleeting high I received while viewing it.
Looking at my life, any major change or breakthrough has always happened because of hate. I either hated what I was doing or how I was acting or where my life was headed.
That old cliche rings true for me...hate the sin not the sinner. It just took me a year or better to get to that point....and a lot longer to learn not to hate myself.

So my counselor is Christian but she is loose in her theology. She thinks everything is ok if it's done in moderation. I canceled with her and informed her I won't be rescheduling with her. I can't afford to have that mindset get a foothold in my thinking.
I will have to continue looking.

Yes we need to be wise. Moderation in addictive behaviors isn't wise. Moderation is a slippery slope that leads back to sin and death. It causes you to let your guard down and rationalize going further in that behavior.
Ladies prayer group this afternoon. Last week's was awesome! I am looking forward to going. They have a guest speaker this weekend and I will be going for the Saturday meeting from 9-2. Be praying for me...my mind is rebeling about going. I am not going to give in.

Yikes Rical, not sure about that. Besides, what is wise is to do what is right. "Fear God and keep His commandments. That is the whole of the matter". -King Solomon, Ecclesiastes.

Changing our thinking and attitudes is the foundation to breakthrough in our sin addictions. It isn't easy because we have been lazy in letting our natural self rule. So it is necessary to exercise our new thinking and attitudes that the Lord has been teaching us. Each time we take hold of our natural minds and turn them back to Christ, we get stronger.
Eph 4
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Tee, when I post verses on here I do use the NIV version. It is easy to read for most. I do have other versions I like to read from...when I am wanting poetry I turn to the king James, when I am wanting a something with a bit more nuance I will use the amplified, I also like the ESV.
I know anger. We were intimate friends. Letting go of my anger is tough because it is something I use to keep myself from being used and hurt. That is my natural self. I have to remind myself that I am no longer in the natural and that my protector is Christ. But boy is it a battle for me to let my anger go! What finally brought me to my senses was realising how I was treating those that I loved and had stood by me through everything. I hated how I was acting and the root cause was my anger and unforgiveness towards my brother.
It is always hard to humble myself and ask for God's forgiveness and mercy...even harder for me to apologize to those I have hurt.
I thank Christ for working on me to root out these negative things in my soul. He is faithful and doesn't give up. The work He does hurts but the freedom and peace that comes is so worth it.

Some days I need bleach for my eyes when admining the forums. The trolls trying to gain access are nasty.
