Alrighty, I wanted to tell a story about things in newlywedland here. DH and I are learning to make big decisions together. It takes awhile, but thanks to a raise that I have received, we have decided that he is quitting his third shift job. Quitting will allow him to get much more/better quality sleep, and he will likely be able to get off of the Doxepin. As I have said elsewhere, I really dislike the Doxepin, and am very happy that he might stop taking it. Quitting does make money very tight. With no adjustments to our current tighter-than-I'm-used-to budget, we have $449 for rent, and housing situations for that cheap are hard to come by in our area. We've been searching for a few weeks and we have had very little luck. So yesterday in church the gospel was Matthew 6:22-33 (yes, I had to look up the reference). It's the "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin" thing. The, "Why are you worried?" thing. The sermon was about trust and prayer, and serving one Master. Both DH and I were very convicted, and even joked about it, as we have been tense about money (mostly me). Anyway, long story short, after church yesterday a friend of ours offered us a room in her home for $400 a month, move-in date of right when we need it. We are still hashing out the details, but all in all, we really could not ask for a better option. Many of the places in our price range are just not safe or not healthy, but this home is both things. We are both still amazed at how this came about.

That is awesome! It's always great to hear stories of God coming through and using others as a vessel to bless and provide, very faith building. I hope this eases your stress somewhat!
A few years ago I was trying to sell an ultralight aeroplane, it had been on the market over 12 months with not a single bite. My faith at the time was the lowest it had ever been for various reasons, I was living in sin and had almost given up on everything. One Sunday at the small Church I was attending they said they were having a desperately needed fundraiser in 6 weeks to improve the building. I immediately wanted to donate but financially could offer little. I pledged to give an amount though. That afternoon I went to the beach and prayed like I had never before for God to help me bless my Church and at the same time give my faith and that of my wife's a boost. I left the beach and distinctly remember telling my wife, "God is going to sell my ultralight and provide for the Church, I've done all I can it's in his hands now". Long story short I received the money for my sold ultralight 6 weeks later on the Friday afternoon before the offering on Sunday.
So when you say you are both still amazed at how it all came about, I can relate. But The Lord truly is in control of all things, and he does hear our prayers that's for sure!

Thanks for sharing and your story put a smile on my face this morning!
I've always like Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and He shall direct they paths.
I remember our newlywed days 19 years ago when we decided that I would quit work and we'd start a family right away and how many people thought I should've kept my job at the bank. His dad said we were crazy and that we wouldn't make it. I got pregnant right away and I remember even my pastor's wife not even congratulating me! Back then, we could rent an apt. in a nice area with two bedrooms and a dining room for 500 bucks a month. Now, rent is closer to 1200 for the same thing!
Money has always been tight for us. We decided to move after 9/11 b/c his union painting job was slashed and his job went bankrupt and he was laid off for a year and I was pregnant with our third child. We decided to put our commercial property and our house on the market and we waited a year for everything to sell. Our commercial property sold and three weeks later we closed on our house so the LORD knew the timing would be right. We had three offers on our house! Our RE agent said she'd never seen anything like it and she'd been in the biz for years. We actually let all three put the bid in and one was primary and it that one didn't work out, the next contract would come in as secondary. God is able to do above that we ask or think. That way, when we moved, our youngest was 10 months old instead of a newborn. Even though it was hard to wait that year out, God knew best.
I am a worrier too. Trust is hard for me. I did a post yesterday that my husband finally found a full time job after losing his job a year ago! We talked about it yesterday and my H said he was really praying he'd get this particular job. I read the verse the other day that, "if ye ask anything in my name, I will do it." So I claimed that verse and asked the LORD to give H that job and he did! I don't think I've ever done that before. I feel like I pray and then I don't really believe he'll answer them or I'm surprised when He does LOL!
The job is with the county working at parks and recreation and it has full bennies b/c it's really a government job which is great. They pay most of the premium. I still have some health troubles so this will help us as well b/c with his temp job now, we have to pay for my meds.
I slept so good last night!

Oh, and when I had my hysterectomy in 2011, I had endometriosis, scar tissues, and adhesions really badly everywhere to the point that I didn't have any more children after 2002. My doc said that it was wise that I had my children young (in my 20s) b/c this type of problem leads to infertility and miscarriages.
I'm so glad we listened to the Holy Spirit instead of worldly wisdom which says to wait until you have the money to have kids. My first was born nine months and 18 days after our wedding!

That's one thing that I keep thinking too, h3- if we wait until we are ready, we will never be ready. I am driving for patience now, but my heart is finding it hard to wait. I tell DH that he has to be two doses of sense in that regard for me, as I am one dosecof wait and two doses of "we can make it work!"

I was almost 25 and Hubby was 30 when we had our first one. He'll be fifty this year with a 13 yo also.
God will let ya know when the time is right.
Steve, I'm so sorry about the loss of your babies.

Steve,
I think you're right. Your babies will be adults in Heaven.
I like this verse in the Bible: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for them that love Him."
I don't have the ref. off hand. I think there are a lot of surprises ahead for us in eternity.
Will we be able to fly? I think we'll have our earthly pets in Heaven. Will our loved ones meet us at he pearly gates who've gone on before us? Will there be dinosaurs in Heaven and other animals? rainbows? butterflies and waterfalls?
Music is such a gift of God for us to relax and feel ministered to.
That's why I love playing the piano and I teach my youngest two. I tell them it's fun to be able to play an instrument when you get older and you're never to old to learn.

I think so when it comes to pets. My cat Callie is a beautiful cat (the one in my avi) and that is her favorite blanket that she sucks on until she falls asleep. I can swaddle her like a baby and she loves it LOL. Her sister Shadow like to hide.
We now have five cats: two sisters, a brother and a sister and a feral 2o pound feral cat named Noah who is my husband's. When we open a can of tuna, they make a long train walking across my kitchen counter trying to get to the tuna can first. One time, Noah came running so fast that he knocked dishes off my kitchen table and the counter. It looked like a cat bowling and dishes were flying everywhere like a bull in a china shop.
The brother and the sister are black. Their names are Julian for the boy and Karma for his sister and they are crazy funny. The boy is all black except for his white paws and neck. Even his whiskers are white. Both are cuddle bugs. I have a string tied to my ROKU mote so I can find it and while I'm watching Netflix, and I let them play with that string until they crash.
They are such a joy. I think their personalities are just like a human, I swear.
Then we have Moses our 10 yo Yorkie and Rosalina our 2 yo Shi Tzue. We got Callie, Shadow and Rosalina all in the same week and they are all friends. Noah the big cat plays with the Shi Tzu. I think she thinks she's a cat or something LOL.
