Bill here.
I just found this web site yesterday. I expect it to be Very helpful to me. I am 60 years old and have been doing porn and masterbating since i was about 14 years old. I am married and my wife does not know about my addiction. I know that I will eventually have to tell her and that scares me to death.
Anyway, I am in my third day without. The only way I have made it through today was by going to this site and reading things that have been posted. It has really been tough today.
Thank you for all the help, incouragement, and hope that you are giving me
Bill

It definitely is a hard, painful, and scary journey, but there's light at the end of the tunnel (and no it isn't a train coming at you;-). The sooner you can get yourself to tell your wife, the better it will be, both for taking you out of isolation; confirming to her what her woman's intuition has already told her, thus helping her on a healing journey; and giving you more resolve and strength to continue in the battle. The first few weeks are the hardest - take it an hour, or even a minute, at a time. Check all the information Mike has on this site; get his book (roadtograce.com). I'm 53, and started with masturbation when I was 12 or 13. Actually, before then, when I was molested at about age 9. Probably you have a similar story. Most of us here do... Praying for you. Hang in there another day... --- Gaylon V.

Hey there, Bill there,
Congratulations. And look, if you fall, don't worry. Everyone here has fallen more times than you could possibly count or imagine. We all know what it is like. I'm 55, and there are a bunch of guys on this site that are in their 50's.
Not sure where you're at in your spiritual life, but you will find just about everyone here has made some kind of connection with God in this battle. You will find guys in 12 step programs, Strength in Numbers groups, other bible studies, or just here, online. But all have turned to God for strength in the battle, most of us through Jesus Christ.
As formidable as the task at hand can seem...You can do this. Even at this late date it is not too late to rid yourself of this evil addiction and move on to a life of peace and abundance.
We will all be praying for you.
In Christ,
Matt

So, Bill, how are you doing? I think I've seen other posts indicating you've been walking in vicotry for about 7-8 days. That's fantastic.
If you haven't read it, you may want to consider "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge. It is a wonderful book about manhood.
As a glimspse into my process. I am porn free. Have been for going on 3 months now. That's the longest I've gone in 7 years. I've been struggling with this addiction for over 30, maybe 40 years. Had a 5 year period of complete freedom and then stumbled. God willing that will never happen again.
Isn't it amazing how much pain this thing causes. I will pray for you and your wife, that God would pour out his Spirit and His grace on your marriage.
Keep the faith! God is with you.
Matt
