I've been visiting this site for a few days. Thought I might introduce myself. I am a 54 year old man who has struggled with pornography for close to 40 years. Raised Catholic, I became born-again believer in 1975. God changed my life. I left boozing, and drugs, and a promiscuous lifestyle to embrace the Gospel. I quit going to bars and quit fighting (I was something of a bar room brawler). I quit swearing and dropped all of my coarse activities.....all except pornography.
For years this horrible addiction has crippled me. At one point by God's grace I experienced a 5 year period of glorious freedom. About 6 or 7 years ago I heard that pornography was available on the internet. One glance, one quick session of seeing what was there, and I slid into the sewer. And that's where I have remained in a constant struggle.
The one thing I recognize from my 5 years of freedom, is that I was deeply involved in fellowship with other Christian men. Not an accountability group, but a group of committed Christian men who loved and prayed for each other.
When I found this site, I recognized that lack and have decided to do something about it. I contacted Mike Genung and we are working to get a Strength in Numbers group going in the south Denver metro area. Please pray for God's guidance and blessing on these efforts.
