Hi all, I need prayer for my husband. We’ve talked about not smoking marijuana multiple times as I am not in agreement with it (though it is legal in CA) but he really struggles with coming back to it every so often. I’ve confronted him multiple times on it but he keeps going back here and there. This is the one area I see that he’s weak in. I feel like it’s the one open door for the enemy to come in. Something just keeps him from giving it up once and for all. And he hides it unless I smell it on his breath or find it in his pockets. So please pray that the Lord would convict him and give me the strength and patience to keep telling him the truth in love. I think I am going to fast and pray in the next three days. Love you all! ~Steph

We prayed together yesterday to renounce his sin and to stop the enemy from continuing to get in the door. It’s not so much the drug as it is the lying and doing things in secrecy. Our God is so much bigger than this and He can give my husband the relief he needs from stress/back pain (from scoliosis). I might still fast but not entirely sure that is what I need to do. I’ll keep you all posted.

I know a number of people recovering from an addiction to weed. And it's not always easy. And the lies the user believes makes it more difficult to stop. Lies like
1) It's okay because it's legal. 2) It's not addictive. 3) There's no evidence of health risks.
As with any addiction, users think they're getting something from their DOC; that it offers some sort of pleasure; that it has value; it fills a void. Though none of that is true.
Users use because their addicted. That means that they feel that they actually need the drug; that they cannot live without it. So he will continue to use even if it means broken promises and lies.
I will pray. Father please give Steph's husband the strength and guidance to turn away from this drug. Bless their marriage and help them to not lose hope. You are bigger than all of this. And may this turn out to be a demonstration of your healing, delivering power. We pray this in Jesus'name. Thank you. Amen.
Now, I want to mention something. I know that you don't agree with marijuana use. But I'm not so sure what he really believes. For myself, if my only motivation to not use was to avoid getting in trouble with my wife, then well, that's not really motivation. I've got to see the reasons for quitting for myself. My wife cannot and does not want to be my policeman nor my mother. And it would not help me one bit. Escaping this trap will be a lot easier if I'm intrinsically motivated and see the benefits for me.

Dear Jesus, please help her husband to break this addiction. Lord, please heal his mind and body and heart from whatever is causing this issue. In Jesus' name. Amen.
My mom also told me that my dad has an addiction to weed all our life. I never even knew about it. My dad just turned 80 and he was addicted until two years ago. God is able to help your husband, please keep loving him and helping him. I think it's wonderful that you are still with him, you pray and fast even. You are like my mom, a real prayer warrior.
Lord, please help him, please Jesus, let him find other ways to deal with the pain and suffering. Please help him to cry out to You instead, like we all need. Jesus, please help him, In Your precious name Jesus, Amen.

Dear Jesus, please help her husband with breaking free. Lord, please protect his mind and his heart and help him to choose life and not death, and worldly pleasure. Please help him see that his wife still loves him and that You love him too. Please be the all and all that he needs to get over this. We need You Jesus, every day. We thank you Jesus. In Jesus' name. Amen.
