You and me both brother. As Tim Allen's character said in the movie Galaxy Quest--"Never give up! Never surrender!"

Another bad start to my day. I am aware that I am very bad about starting to read a book and then falling flat on my face before finishing it. Nevertheless, the book "Unmuzzled" is highly recommended, and I am starting it. Got it for my Kindle reader for $5. Secondly, I had to put Covenant Eyes back on my computer. Not the total answer, but for me a necessary step. God has not given up on me.

Online church is always a big boost for me. And I started reading the book. Good stuff there.
So the question becomes, What about an individual day when things just don't go well. Or I didn't sleep well. Or whatever. Can I, will I, learn to hold on to God? To keep trusting in the dark what He's shown me in the light?
I seem to be a very weak, emotion-driven person. ONLY by the grace of God can I become strong.

I seem to be a very weak, emotion-driven person. ONLY by the grace of God can I become strong. This is me also. As far back as I can remember like 5 0r 6 years old I have been this way. Also very insecure. But God knew all this when He saved us. "He never gives up on us. It is us that turn our back on Him but He will continue to court us until we turn back to Him. He is faithful and true always." Amen Amy!!

Then do it for drawing your heart closer to Jesus, not out of burden or duties. This is helping me everyday. Dear Jesus, please help the brother named savedbygrace here on this forum with wisdom and strength for today. We are weak but You are strong Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

One good day behind me, which was also the Lord's Day. Why is that? Because on that day I am focused on God's Word, songs of praise, and fellowship.... even with the current restrictions, all 3 of those happen.
So on the other 6 days, I need God's Word, praise, and felllowship.
I am making a list of Bible references that I am calling my Reading List. This means that even though I already kind of know what many of them say, I must, in any time of temptation, physically look them up in the Bible and read and think about each one of them. The list is getting longer. That is the whole idea! I am to do this as long as it takes to get my heart right again!!!!!!!!!!!

When will we learn that our feelings are lies? We can not trust them or rely on them. We can only rely on the Holy Spirit and the Word as our truth.
I just got done realizing how false our feelings and emotions are. I too have been driven by them my entire life. Now I have to turn my back on them and only believe the Word and the Holy Spirit. I have to say no to them and call them the liars they are. I have to die to myself and only let Christ live through me. Being a woman, I have emotional upheaval for part of the month...bring it Satan because you lose and my Jesus wins!

I must learn to stay connected to Jesus.... ONLY there will I find true joy, and have my work count for eternity. I note also in this passage that God uses HIS WORD to cleanse me and set my feet back on the path again!
John 15:3-11 English Standard Version (ESV)
Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

odb.org/2020/04/30/free-indeed- Free Indeed (Our Daily Bread) The Bible passage from that devotional: 31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33 They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:31-36 ESV

In our church we are blessed to have not only online morning worship, but even Bible study class. Today's lesson - VERY strong words from the apostle Paul, for the Corinthians to radically come out of the lifestyle that was all around them. Very strong negatives. STOP IT. COME OUT OF THAT. Our bodies are the temple the Holy Spirit. We are not our own. We were bought with as price. Therefore we are to glorify God in our bodies. 1 Cor. 6:9-20 The CSB translation was used. It labels the various sins very clearly.

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
--Proverbs 28:13 ESV
Thank you Jesus for Your mercy and grace!
