I did not over-ride the filter, but still looked at stuff with lustful intent.

stay close to Jesus brother. You don't need that junk and I don't either, that is what I'm trying to tell myself too.

If anyone would like to be my "ally" in Covenant Eyes, please let me know. It would mean giving me an email address which I would pass on to them, and receiving a periodic report.
On my part, it would make me think twice before looking for lustful stuff.!
Thanks

My new starting date represents the fact that there must be a total change in what I view online. Thankfully, this time I did not self-gratify, representing about 1 inch of progress.
I also have to realize that I do not "have" to self gratify. It's a lie I have been believing.

"For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."

I like that verse. Sometimes, I remind myself that Jesus NEVER lusted after any women. He was always good, always holy. What a great God, what a great example, we can do all things with God too. Dear God, please help us please. Please give us victory over this evil desire of the flesh. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Today is Day 1 again. God is merciful, and is showing me what to do now. Scriptures from devotional guides I use were personally chosen by God for me.

Dear Lord, please restore my brother and please let him find a new desire to confess and forsake any and all lust in his life. Me too Lord, I don't want any part of it. Please forgive, and strengthen and help my dear brother. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Although the stories of God's leading often involve financial or other provision, in our case we must realize that when we look to the Lord in time of temptation, and learn to wait upon Him, He rushes to our aid.
I recently found a book I had started before and had somehow put down before reading very much.... "U Turns" by Tony Evans. Good and helpful teaching there from a great man of God!

I like him. I heard a few sermons that really blessed me. About mental struggles and such.

I took this great promise out of Dominic's last post....
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
“You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
Luke 11:9-13 from the NLT
Of course, Jesus has now returned to the Father and sent His Spirit to live within believers. So the promise for us is even more meaningful!

Psalm 18 - long but powerful. GOD to the rescue when we need Him!
Things seem quiet here. God, please be with each and every one of us in our struggles. Thank you Lord for hearing our cry!

I find great help in reading the Bible, and I'm doing it at my own pace. Not straight through, but I divide it into sections, so there's no long reading in any one section.
The thing I am finding in doing this is that precious promises for God's help in temptation keep popping up EVERYWHERE! It's amazing; I am overwhelmed by this!
Thank you Jesus!!!

"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing." James 1:2-4 from the NLT
I for one do NOT rejoice when troubles and trials come! But I must realize that my loving Father is behind it, setting the limits, lovingly helping me to grow stronger in faith.
