Very tiring, kinda discouraging day. But these thoughts from Psalm 145 encouraged me as this day started, and they are still true! (all quotes from the CSB)
14 The LORD helps all who fall; he raises up all who are oppressed.
18 The LORD is near all who call out to him, all who call out to him with integrity.
20 The LORD guards all those who love him, but he destroys all the wicked.
God is with me every step of the way. How easy it is to forget that!

This Scripture is from my grandmother, repeated to me many, many times......
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

It's a blessing to have family like this. Thank you brother. Amen.

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”
Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.
This is 2 Cor 12:9 from the CSB.
Of course, not an excuse for my sin, like "I can't help my weakness" etc. But God knows my heart and all of my past, and He is merciful. He wants to meet me right where I am! As a hard case, I'm just an opportunity for God to get that much more glory by showing His strength in me!

One day at a time works best for me. I tend to live in fear of the future. But I find that stuff I worry about always turns out differently, and better, than what I projected in my mind. So I need to just live the day I am in and enjoy it!

That is great advice brother. Jesus taught us 'do not worry about tomorrow' and I often fail in following this command. This brings me to remember a quote I heard recently. Of course, Jesus says it best right?

This was posted on FB by a brother, and is so applicable to us:
"For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." -Romans 8:6 ESV
I wonder if the Apostle Paul had this in mind, from Isaiah...
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." -Isaiah 26:3 KJV
I just know that when my mind gets taken over by evil and lustful desire, but I have not yet given in, it is time to slap myself, or in some form or fashion bring myself back to the truth of God's promises!!!!!!

This time I'm going to give myself a "D" instead of an "F" for the last couple of days. The difference is important because I have something to build on.
I got rid of my previous filtering program and installed a new one. The old one was letting my access the worst of the internet. This was no excuse for me; I needed to immediately replace it. I did not self gratify.
God has encouraged me, which I do not deserve, but He did. He is with me to do the impossible.

Amen brother. God helps us to the impossible. Amen. Dear God, please help my brother and us too who are trying to live pure and live for You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

I am finding the filter, truevine online, to be helpful. I have now even asked them to block youtube, because youtube itself does not seem to offer any choices of what I can see.

that is great brother. I'm very sad at YouTube. they are stupid. Because I was not even looking at anything wrong yet still got slammed with bad stuff. They are sinister. I have to sign in, turn on restricted mode, and search for specific content or get slammed and I still get slammed. I have to pray. yesterday, I got a trigger and my eyes lingered for about one second and I had a borderline moment from Youtube. Thank you for letting me know. Perhaps God, through you, is telling me to stay away from YouPoops.

Good thoughts. I could not find any way in YouTube to set a restricted mode, so I'm safer to just be rid of it. Yes, I'll miss some good music that Christians post there, but that's OK.
A familiar promise, that I for one person need to remember more often...
"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." -1 Cor. 10:13 from the ESV, but I think all the translations make the point.
My God is faithful. He walks beside me every step of the way. He is there to speak words of wisdom and comfort to my heart. The way of escape may be right in front of me, and I simply have to take it.

For some it's just easier to go without YouTube, then to have it without viewing something harmful. So I applaud your decision. And I'm sure you can find many other sources for your music. Good job!

I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 8 years old... long time ago. I can remember starting to read through the KJV from the beginning, and I got about as far as Abraham buying the cave of Macpelah.
I am thankful that I am not a pastor, even though I know that some pastors must battle this too. But the Bible has been my biggest tool. And yet I still fall flat on my face after a few weeks.
I absolutely must, at the beginning of each day, get something from the Word, or a devotional, to be my focus for that one day.
Here is a wonderful promise about how God wants to use His Word in my life...
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
(Isaiah 55:9-11 ESV)

45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
1 Sam 17:45 ESV
