One day at a time and one moment at a time during that day. The past is done. We learn from it and move on.(this I fail at a lot!) The future is unknown. That we leave to God.(this I also fail alot at) I pray we both will succeed at this!
You also have a blessed day brother!
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13,14(NIV)

Sunday!!!!
Psalm 107:31-32 ESV
31 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! 32 Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

For 2 Wednesdays in a row I have fallen to lust.
One could easily say that all of the Bible verses I would post were totally useless. Hypocritical. But what if those Scriptures helped me make it through that one day??!!
And so I continue. No verses today. It'll be on the little card I keep with me today.
And I will continue what I started a few days ago. reading through the Bible in a year using the references in Our Daily Bread. The battle is in the mind (Romans 12:2), and I will continue to put into my mind God's truth that can transform my life. Yes, even mine.

Only God knows our hearts and He knows yours. I can't judge you. If you post verses and keep falling, maybe you have to change what you are currently doing. You have to repent and we all have to repent. Me too. Pride, fear, anger, lust, even if I didn't act out but looked with lust, I have to repent. Now what will you do different?

This is a battle. We are our own worst enemies! Every morning when we get up we need to look in the mirror and say "I better watch out for this guy"!!! (or girl)

What is different? Importantly, my reading through the Bible on a schedule is certainly one - instead of putting favorite Scriptures, if I come to things in my reading that speak of God's mercy toward one like me, I can rejoice, like - "I wasn't looking for that; GOD gave it to me! It's from Him to me!"
For this particular day, it was a simple statement written in my journal. It looks like a day of uncertainly concerning various problems; my commitment is to simply walk with God and let Him lead me through them.

As always, the day went incredibly far better when I walked with God. I'm totally exhausted and kinda stressed, but it was a good day. Thank you Jesus.

Col. 3:23-24 NIV
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Work is a blessing! And we do it for the Lord, not for men, and the reward is from Him.
Focusing on my sin, and trying not to do it, is NOT the way. Let me do with enthusiasm what God has given me to do today. And when it's time to rest, HE is the one who gives true rest.

He said that many people would ask him how to overcome a troubling addictive sin in their lives(something to that effect) which he would respond "Focus on Christ and following Him not on the sin". He said more or less "the more we focus on the sin we have issues with the more trouble we will have with it. But the more we focus on Christ and following Him the more our besetting sin will naturally loose power and fall out of our lives." In other words "Focus on Christ not the sin" just as you have stated SBG. Bob George passed away in 2011. His fight and journey is done.

Thankful for Bob George. God still using his words!
So true.... we focus on Christ, His promises, His power. The besetting sin WILL lose power. Not overnight, but by God's grace it will.
“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. (Jeremiah 2:13 NIV)

And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12 ESV)
And so by prayer and encouragement of one another, we can stand strong!!!

Busy Saturday!
"3 You shall say to them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Cursed be the man who does not hear the words of this covenant 4 that I commanded your fathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Listen to my voice, and do all that I command you. So shall you be my people, and I will be your God" .... Jer. 11:3-4 ESV

Monday!!!
2 Timothy 2:3, 19-22 (ESV)
Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
9 But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity." 20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. 22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
