He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Psalms 1:3 NKJV

GOD helping me, working inside me, changing me, as I keep an attitude of lovingly, depending on God. Doing what God wants me to do….God promises to work with me and help me do this.
Tree planted by the rivers of water
Tree bringing forth it's fruit in season
Whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does shall prosper
How has this been a reality in my life? One example, is at work, God had given me lots of successes at work.
What does “leaf does not wither" mean? Like a tree has different parts, like fruit, branches, and leaves, the major part of a tree is producing fruit (in the case of a fruit tree), the other complimentary parts of a tree, so small, but God made, are the leaves. What are “leaves" as it means to Me? This part might be open to interpretation. I believe the leaf can mean that the little parts will not wither and die. They leaf get nourishment from the water by stream so the water feeds into the tree to the branches, to the leaves, to produce fruit. All the other parts of me will not wither. More like the little parts of me that I produce. With God I am producing fruit, well God is the One making it happen, I just offer myself a living sacrifice. So God is producing fruit and also all the things a tree produces, like leaves. The leaves, are produced by God. The little things I produce, good things, are not out of my own doing, just like the tree gets water, I get the living water that Jesus offers me. This will naturally (if I am a good tree producing good fruit) produce the fruit of the Spirit, the fruit of repentance, the fruit of a new life, being born-again, dead to natural, wicked self, alive in Christ.
What does this mean practically? Jesus said, repent and believe. This is the first “water" you(the tree) needs. Jesus said, that words are spirit and life.
2nd we turn from our sins initially, and daily until we die, we the Holy Spirit convicts us of sins. And since we are turning from our sins, we are saying, “I do not want to do those sins so more, I want to be done with it” and we come to trust in everything that Jesus said and who He is as the ultimate and only truth. We are saying, “Lord, you are the rightful ruler and Lord and Savior of me, Lord, I am a sinner and in need of Your mercy. Please forgive me, I want to follow you, I surrender my body, mind, soul, and will to You. Please do what you wish with me. I am Yours and surrender my whole heart to you. Please teach me Your ways. Please help me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
3rd, we get into fellowship with other disciples in Jesus, praying. Co minion, eating together. Like the early church did. This bring us together, iron sharpening iron, confessing our sins to each other. Worshipping the Lord of us together. Helping and serving one another. If a brother needs something and you see it, you want to help and offer help. Loving your neighbor like a good Samaritan.
4th, we live in the world with non-believers so we live and practice what we preach. The world looks to Christians and “people who claim they do good so let's see them do good because I do know for real if they really practice what they preach" so we live as Christ would have us live, not us taking matters into our own hands, not in the old way we used to do things, but finding out what the Bible says and doing what the Bible says. For example, Jesus said, “Love your neighbor" and “Love your neighbor" and the non-believers (some used to be “Christians" as some might profess) and we need to be obedience to follow what Jesus commanded us. Not out of a unwilling heart, forcing yourself, but out of genuine love for that person, with a heart that had motives of ‘I am doing this for the Lord Jesus, because I love Him and I want to serve and love others now"
Practical examples are greeting your enemies. The tells us to do this. Doing to them what you would want them to do for you. Good to them. Goodwill toward all men. Like a Christmas giving spirit.
5th, we tell others about the God of all of us and share how much God did for us to forgive our sins and use us, broken as we are, in a daily dependence and commitment of righteous to our Lord Jesus, to one day go to heaven. We keep planting the seeds of the Good News. Praying for God to draw them to Jesus and have mercy on them, like God drew us and had mercy on us. Remember that Jesus said that the rain falls on the ever one the Good and the wicked...and I maybe be a Christian it I am still a “work in progress" meaning that although I am now committing my whole life and heart to Jesus and living a holy life, there will be times that I sin. Sometimes, I will get angry, so I need to repent and confess and forsake my sin of anger and come back to Jesus, re-committing myself to Him. And when I see other Christians who get “angry" I know my own sinful self so I can encourage another brother because I to struggle with the same sin of anger. Jesus said if I am angry and hate then I am a murderer. This is serious and I have to be warned by it. The same for other sins. The scriptures say that you who are spiritual help the One who fell into sin but be care that you do not fall into sin.
