Please pray for my son. He is adopted and was born addicted to meth. He has been in fostercare since birth. We adopted him at age 2. He will be 4 soon. He is developmentally delayed. He also has a food addiction that we can not find the source of. We have taken him to several doctors as he his very small for his age. They all tell us he is fine. His food issue is not his fault yet very stressful for our family. He throws tantrums, sneaks food, and tries to eat non food items. He has to be watched day and night. When we adopted we were told that he had no issues. The negative behaviors we saw at first were thought to be just temporary until he adjusted. We are now two years down the road and he has only gotten worse. We can't take him to a restaurant becasue of his extreme behaviors around food. Taking him to the grocery store always ends in stress and tears. My heart is so heavy. I just don't know what to do.

I am praying for him and your family hon.
Have you taken him to a child psychiatrist? Being born meth addicted it may have damaged the part of his brain that controls hunger and food. A psychiatrist maybe able to help with prescribing something to calm that part of his brain down.

We have taken him to our family doctor, pediatrician, GI specialist, endocrinologist, neurologists and tried behavioral therapist. He is currently in occupational therapy for sensory issues and his developmental delay. Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it. I'm will to try anything at this point. Thank you for all the prayers!!

You have been to a lot of doctors! The reason I suggested a child psychiatrist is because your description of his behaviors sounds like addictive behaviors which psychiatrists deal with. My psychiatrist actually runs a few intensive stay in rehab centers. Be sure to vet the psychiatrist you choose. Make sure they have good reviews and experience in dealing with these behaviors.
Hugs hon!
