Okay, I just have to know, am I the only person here that has not one single gift bought yet? Today all the ladies at work were talking about their big plans for wrapping this weekend ... WRAPPING! Maybe, just maybe, they were saying "Rapping" and I took it all wrong Every single year I tell myself that I am going to be done early and every year I admit to myself that I lied! It would be comforting to know that I am not alone Love and Hugs (that is all I have to give cause I have no presents) Grace PS - I have come up with a really fun game for Christmas dinner. I was so upset at Thanksgiving. I had 24 people at my home (not including small people). There was one point in time that every person here was on there cell phone with the exception of 6. We almost needed our very own cell tower for my Thanksgiving guests. For Christmas I have a beautiful basket that I have decorated with ribbons and bows. I am going to ask everyone to put their phone in the basket while we are eating and the first person that feels a need to take their phone out will be responsible for doing the dishes and cleaning up. But I still do not have any presents!

Good idea on the basket! You are very inventive!
I did my shopping online. So I am waiting for them to arrive. We usually don't do gifts but my sister wanted to do them this year. We got rid of the gift part of Christmas because it became a competition on who could give the most expensive gift. So we put Christ back in Christmas and made it about celebrating our Savior. I am praying that it doesn't become a competition again. I am confident it won't because we have all changed and grown closer to God over the years.

Next year I am doing online shopping ... remind me of that in October will you, please? Gifts are not the center of our celebration, but the "children" do like their presents :-)
I have always created a "special thoughts" package for my kids. I have been doing this since they were very young. I start as soon as Christmas is over. I purchase some type of attractive storage container. This year it is the pretty canvass totes ... Blue snowflakes for the boys and red snowflakes for the girls, and all year long I pick up little things that make me think of them or a memory of something special. Right before Christmas I top it off with their favorite chocolates and a special ornament. My two in-law children love it too.
With both boys being huge Chicago Cubs fans, there are a lot of memories to put in there :-)
