Hi, my younger sister is suffering from bruxism. She grinds her teeth during the night and often awakens at night due to pain. Her enamel also got degraded and her teeth are very sensitive right now. She bought a night mouth guard and she started wearing that before sleep. Should she consult a doctor for this problem, or should she continue using night mouth guards? Please give some genuine replies and suggestions. All discussions and advice in this regard are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would have to give her the advice to not only see a doctor but also look into counseling. Grinding your teeth at night like that can be a symptom of unresolved emotional issues. I used to grind and clench my teeth. Once I started counseling and dealing with my past that went away.
