Ellie started running a slight fever last night. Beth went into to check on her and she started convulsing. They weren't able to wake her at the local ER so they transferred her by ambulance to the Children's hospital in Omaha. She still hasn't woken up. All vitals are normal and the fever is slight. They are running tests but don't know anything yet. The fact that they aren't able to wake her is troubling. Please keep her in your prayers.

'Lord I pray for a complete recovery for Ellie and that you would place one of your angels at her bed side.'

Ellie finally woke up. She was in a coma basically for 13 hours. They did an EEG and an MRI. The neurologist is saying that it looks like the seizures and convulsing is being caused by brain injury that is seen in abuse cases or head injuries caused by a serious fall. Colby has similar brain injury from Craig's abuse... I broke down and cried when Beth told me this. They will know more once the MRI results come back. This is all off the EEG results.

OMGosh,
I will uphold all of you in prayer today. I wish for Craig to go to jail for that.
I'm so glad she woke up. Do they think it could happen again? I'm wondering if they'll give her seizure meds.
The Music post is my favorite place to stop not only b/c I'm a pianist, but b/c God gave us Music as for therapy AND fun. I love to clean my house (when I have the energy) to 80s music. LOL.
Keep us updated, Amy and I'm sending ya a big cyberhug. Which we all lived close so our fams could get together throw down some meat and have a big BBQ.

The MRI results show that it is from brain injury. They are putting her on meds to control the seizures. She will have to be on them for the rest of her life.
I am glad they found out but sad because she and Colby suffered abuse from their father. At least now Beth will be able to get Craig's parental rights revoked without problem. Personally I think he should be castrated or shot.

Ellie is being released. Praise God. Now the fun begins...trying to get the dosing right so she doesn't have any more grand mal seizures. I got to talk to her today and she is sounding like her old self.
She is so sweet and loving already. I pray that she remains so going thru her teen years. Those can be rough.

Amy, I'm so sorry. I didn't know that you were going through all of this. I feel like such a jerk. Rarely do I come to the different sites in BG so I forget that they are here. All I can say is that I understand your feelings. My daughter was physically abused by a babysitter while I was dating her mom. I was so upset that we actually talked about "taking this woman out". For the first time in my life I actually had to stop and pray that I would leave it up to God to be God. It was emotionally one of the hardest things I ever did. I walked away not knowing what would happen. Revenge was racing through me until a friend showed me the scripture that says it's up to God to repay and not us. It's His job and I'm not allowed to tell God how or when to do it despite how I feel. It was incredibly hard. To end this woman's life seemed like the right thing to do at the time based on my feelings. Just imagine where I'd be today if I did. Sister I'm praying for you to let go...truly let go. One interesting thing a Holocaust survivor once told me: "Forgiveness is about letting the prisoner go free and suddenly realizing that the prisoner was you." Radical huh but so true. You and I can't change people or circumstances but in forgiveness we have the power to break whatever hold those people or circumstances have over us. May peace of your soul find you one day.

Sorry I didn't see the new posts here. I promise I wasn't ignoring you John. God has to keep teaching me to forgive and let go. He is in charge and He was there when it happened just as He was there when my dad abused me. Letting go and forgiveness are 2 of the things I struggle with most. It can take me awhile to get there.
Ellie is doing well. They are in the process of getting her med up to level. That will take 8-9 weeks. Until then she could very easily have another grand mal. They are keeping a close eye on her and she is slowly getting her strength back.
