Hubby and I watched that series too.
I moved 1000 miles from my in laws and my side too. My FIL doesn't get the verse in Genesis that says a man and wife leave their parents and become one. Or in another words...BUTT OUT. Everything was my fault. LOL. My husband's stepmother will drive 12 hours to see her daughter and child, but my FIL and she won't drop down 6 hours to see my three kids. Oh well. It's their loss. They were mad as heck when we moved away from WI.

Yes parents can and will in some way mess up their kids. No matter how hard you try, you are human and will get something wrong. That is where God and faith and prayer come in. Ultimately that child has a decision to make...let the past rule me or overcome it with God's help? I don't know where I would be today if not for the faith in God of others and their prayers.

H and I never realized that Satan can use family to drive a wedge in your marriage. Once they was started, and then we moved here and got the internet and he started P, it all just went downhill.
Well. I'm proud of my H though. His SIL stepped in our business one times too many and we changed our phone number for a year and a half. His dad is in bad shape so he called and gave them our new number and confronted them about how they treated me/us and how they were to treat us as a couple from now on.
