A couple days ago God led me to the letters to the churches in Revelation. Just to the promises to the overcomers. It's been awhile since I read them. The promises are awesome! If you haven't read them, I highly recommend taking a few minutes to do so. I did find an article that goes through them and explains them. www.biblelineministries.org/articles/basearch.php?action=full&mainkey=OVERCOMERSWe are all overcomers in Jesus as long as we have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior. I am praying that these promises give you a renewed hope to continue your overcoming journey with Christ. I love you all.

And so I must learn to walk in what is already mine! So John and Paul are in agreement.... Romans 6:1-4 Christian Standard Bible (CSB) The New Life in Christ 6 What should we say then? Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply? 2 Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.

I pray this outloud over myself most days. It really helps.
Father, I dedicated my body, my mind, my soul and my spirit as a living sacrifice, holy and devote to You. Not my will but Your will be done in and through me today. Amen
Romans 12 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) 12 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

That is a good prayer for surrender to God. Thank you.

Merry Christmas to you all! Happy Birthday Jesus!
I wanted to share something that happened to me recently in light of dani's post about hearing God. Just to show you God's humor.
I was writing my tithe check. God told me I needed to write it for 10 dollars more. I didn't because I didn't have the extra 10 dollars in my personal account to cover it. I get to church and my sister hands me a check for $100. God just laughed and I laughed as I wrote out another tithe check for $10. It also taught me a valuable lesson to listen to God when He tells me to do something.
Hmm...maybe we should start a thread just for stories where we encounter God. That would be very encouraging.

I just had an epiphany. Laugh at the devil when you are being tempted. Why? The joy of the Lord is our strength. Satan is a defeated foe. Focus on Christ who is in us and has already won the battle and laugh and rejoice! Our God loves us and wants us with Him as family. He wants a relationship with us. He will never leave us or forsake us. That is something to laugh and rejoice about!
Neh 8:10 ...Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Esh I need to remember to laugh at my own self when I am feeling short tempered...because I am letting Satan control my emotions. I can and will control my emotions. I will only think on things that are lovely and good.
Philippians 4:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Our fight involves these tools:
Believing the Word Speaking the Word Acting on the Word Praising God
These tools will win our battles every time. We just have to keep going and not give up or give in. We have to keep pressing into God by spending time in the Word and in prayer and worship.
I also wanted to share an aha moment with you. You have heard the saying that we need to have child-like faith. It dawned on me that we not only need that kind of faith but we also need to believe just as a young child believes it's parents. If it's in the Word, it's true.

I pray you are all doing well. I have been busy the last couple of weeks. My sisters, Mom and I found a 4 bedroom rental house in town. We are putting our applications in today. It's a nice house with lots of room.
Mom has also had several doctor appointments. She had several tests done on her heart. 20 years ago she had congestive heart failure and had a 5 bypass surgery done. The damage done during that has always shown up on the tests including the one blockage they weren't able to get to because of time constraints. The reports came back that the damage was gone and her heart is stronger than it was last year! Praise God!

Thank you Jesus. I'm glad you got a rental house Amy. Hopefully someone will help you move stuff. I don't like moving but it's got to get done right?

Thank you Jesus. I'm glad you got a rental house Amy. Hopefully someone will help you move stuff. I don't like moving but it's got to get done right? We will hire movers. They have big trucks that can take everything in one trip. Plus they are fast. Took them less than 2 hours to move us here and 1/2 an hour was travel time.
