Hello!
My name's Al, and i'm in my early twenties. Unfortunately i tapped into porn addiction starting from a tender age. Since then it all got worse. Not only do I find it almost impossble to dominate my impulses but I also got into disgusting stuff and fetishes that are ruining me as a person. I'm a Christian , but I have the impression i only praised God with my lips, while my action spoke against Him. I want to change that. i want to break free from addiction, but for that i need to confess my sin to somebody and be able to talk with somone on this forum who maybe is in a similar situation and can be here for me when i need help. This is part of the reason I decided to join. The other reason is i want you to share with me yoiur resources and knowledge that helped you in your journey.
i hope to meet some nice poeple here

Uroy91, I am so glad you are here at BG. I think you can benefit from the journey of a few men here who have been trapped in porn or sexual sin. For many of us it has been since that "tender age" as you delicately put it. Are you living somewhere that a group can be found through a church? Groups are important as are accountability partners, reading scripture daily (frequently), confession and repentance are needed as well. I am a big fan of a group called Setting Captives Free which you can find on-line. They offer a free 60-day on-line program that is very biblically based and they will assign you an on-line mentor. This is a great way to get the biblical basis for freedom from most sexual addiction. Mike's book, The Road to Grace is a good resource too. There are lots of resources, but these are good starts. The road to recovery is very real and possible, but it is not without work on your part and there are times it can be difficult. Hang in there and trust God. Your journey to recovery and freedom will ebb and flow with your level of effort to pursue God. He will do the work but you must respond. We are here to help when it get difficult. Blessings and peace,Nikanor

Hello Kevin. Hello Nikanor.
@kevin I'm new to this forum. Could you point me to your accountability log please?
@nikanor As I said to Kevin here, I'm new to the world of online accountability,so I don't really know anything about groups and mentors. I live in Italy, but i have seen there are groups online. how does that work?

Uroy91, Hi Al - Greetings to you in Italy. You can access SettingCaptivesFree.com check it out. Their purity program is free, it has 60-lessons (suggested one lesson per day) to do at your pace. There are members from around the world. My on-line mentor at the time I did the program was from India. You can also assign other accountability partners (friends, family, acquaintances, members of this group at BG, pastors, priests, etc.). They are copied on-line with your answers to the lessons so they can follow your progress, offer support or gentle correction, and hold you accountable to God's truth, Christ's light, and the Holy Spirit's nudging. Let us know what you think of it. There are many other resources which we can share as time goes on, especially books. Lastly, get yourself a good study bible and start reading it with the goal to eventually read the whole thing. Praying the Holy Spirit of God intervenes in your life to change your heart and find freedom. Nikanor

My husband is a Christian who has struggled with internet porn for 11 years and he's been sober for six months. He did have a slip for about a day. We are currently separated in our home for almost 7 months. He just needed a kick in the butt to get him to wake up.
We put Covenant Eyes on all our computers. He also has a sponsor. 2 things that are in my boundaries for us to stay married is that he goes to a meeting once a week and have a sponsor for the rest of his life.
We've started going to Celebrate Recovery which is a Christian based 12 step program that is a nationwide program. It was started by a man @ Rick Warren's church who was burdened by people who have dealt with addictions, painful childhoods...etc. He tried SAA and it didn't really click with him. Some men have great victory with SAA and that might work for you too.
I will be praying for you. You CAN defeat this stronghold in your life. God is able to do above all that we ask your think.
