Here in the United States there are not a lot of restrictions on the Internet Porn Industry. (Except Child Porn of course). I have seen articles on other countries where Porn is actually outlawed and some pretty stiff penalties are enforced. China seem to really enforce and control the internet. Do you think if such controls were placed on the internet here, it would help so many families deal with this issue? Or do you think it would cross the line of “freedomâ€, even if “freedom†is going against our God?

It would be a wonderful thing if the moral restrictions that existed during the pre- 1960's governing literature, film and television were re-instituted in the West. But, of course, that's just not going to happen. What we are now able to view is becoming more pervasive through the multi-media.
China has restricted the distribution of pornography because of the growing Christian influence in the nation. There are at least 40,000,000 Chinese who are members/adherents of churches sanctioned by the State and perhaps a greater number of believers who are attached to evangelical congregations who meet secretly in homes. Because the Christian influence is no longer in a growth cycle in North America and Europe, its value system is losing out to religious/philosophical inclusiveness. There is scant hope that there would ever be a populist move to curb pornography in the western nations while the Lord continues to tarry. The masses seem to want their porn. That would include a significant percentage of married/common law couples who rely on it as a means of sexual stimulation.
The individual battling porn needs to separate himself from those sources that offer pornography. The porn addiction in this generation is a twofold problem : 1. dependent on / addicted to the Internet and so 2. potentially addicted to the porn that is so pervasive on the Internet.

I don't think that there will be limitations put on the internet that are not already present for printed material. What really needs to happen, though, is making it inaccessible to minors. The problem with that, is that the only way that comes to mind to accomplish it is to require personally identifying information for access, even if there is no charge, and you know that both the sites and users who prefer to do their deeds in anonymity will do their best to block that.

Good points... Even daily viewing of TV, is not controlled and even acceptable. My family was watching prime time TV and there were 2 very disturbing commercials, one for Victoria's Secret and one for intimate products. Both were very suggestive. My husband and I started to say that they were very inappropriate, and my sons chimed in with but that is normal. Everyone knows about it! So blocking the internet at our home, hasn't helped much with the easy access to suggestive viewing.
