My name is Mark. I'm 17 years old, and I have been addicted to porn and lust for about 3 years. My parents were rarely home when I was younger, so when I was 14 and bored on the computer one day, I started looking up for unwholesome pictures on the internet. I was almost instantly hooked. If my dad wasn't as technically capable as he is, I probably would've gotten away with it for much longer. After talking with my parents and my pastor at the time, I was able to stay away from porn, but not from lust.
I dated through middle and high school, though not the way. Though I am still a virgin, my thoughts were always on getting just a little more pleasure from my girlfriends, and I cheated almost all the time. For example, while I was dating one girl in my school, I had a very lustful evening on a spring vacation with a very close female friend of mine.
Now that I graduated high school in the USA, I am now living in Germany, hoping to start a university program here. I am living with my grandparents, and have a lot of free time on my hands. I have started my pornographic trends again, as I have lots of free time in the morning and work part time in the afternoon.
It's time to finally end this curse that has followed me for 3 years. I'm tired of feeling lousy about myself, of nearly ruining my relationship with my girlfriends and my sisters in Christ. It's time to get on my knees and pray for forgiveness again.

Dear MusikMark, I liked this about "sisters in Christ". I think that sister might be a good way of looking at women? "Undivided" is a word for you if it gives you something? I think Scriptures challenges to be undivided and wholehearted?

Hi Mark,
Welcome to BG.
Are there any missions or organizations with which you might volunteer, to occupy some of the idle/idol time?

That it does. And I actually use that attitude after reading a book that helped me after my initial venture into sin.

Unfortunately, not at the present moment. However, I'm not resolving to try to use up more time with playing music, video games (I'm a deep RTS fan), and prayer so that I have less down time at home.

Welcome to BG, MusikMark. It is good that you have taken the step so early on to deal with this problem. Many people do not take that early step. Three years may seem long to you but for myself, it has been thirty-six years! A useful strategy and one I will try myself is that when tempted, to pray for somebody needy and maybe spend several hours in that activity and not just reading the Bible on the subject of sexual immorality. Both will be very helpful in the battle with this sin.

hi mark. good for you, wanting to free. i would suggest some physical outlet like running or weight training if you dont already. anytime you sit down to the computer in boredom, make yourself go for a 5km run first. i dont mean to be trite, but changing the routine is a great first step.
