As we make our way to freedom, so many times we will here others who want to offer their advice tell us to pray when the temptations come. I could not agree more. There is power in prayer, and even more importantly there is power in the name of Jesus. Here is what I did a lot. Thoughts seem to come at the most inconvenient times and a lot of times we don’t have the ability to go somewhere get alone and pray for strength to overcome. What do we do in those times? My prayers would consist of one word. Jesus. I had already said a prayer at the beginning of each day letting him know that I would be calling on him throughout the day, and when I did I would be asking for strength to make it through the storm. Say his name . Ask him to help you overcome. Over time each victory will get you closer to him and further from your addiction. It works. 9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2 9-11
