Hey friends, you might want to check these out as they can help you with all struggles in life, including sex and porno.
1)Wild at Heart, and Fathered by God by John Eldredge. I cant give this guy enough credit! He shows us what it means to be a man, compared to all the "really nice guys" we see at church everyday but are hiding their wounds. It exposes the fake masculinity of today's church, and shows us the true masculinity of Almighty Father! GOD IS FIERCE - (Who created thunderstorms and earthquakes, folks? ) and Eldredge stresses that point. Nearly everyone has father wounds and this book can help heal that. At the time I read it, my masculinity was so under attack i was questioning who I WAS at the deepest level. I did not know what it meant to be a child of the King until I read this book. After I read it, life became an adventure.... Fathered by God is the sequel (prev. known as Way of the Wild Heart), and it helps you understand your struggle as well by highlighting the key stages in a mans life and going deep into them and what they mean.
2)Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. Now I know there are probably those that cant stand this guy's SUPER-positive attitude (at first I couldnt!) but that kind of joy is infectious! He has a lot of really good things to say, Ive found half of life is in how you see it, (i.e. what you believe) anyhow. I watched his TV show a few times and then bought this book and my life improved drastically!
3) "Band of Brothers: E company, 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne - From Normandy to Hitler's Eagle's Nest",
-I have no idea why that copied and pasted into blue bold. But anyways, this is a book that should get you out of your own head at the very least. It is about a group of paratroopers in WWII. When you think of what these guys actually went through, your problems shrink to nothing! Also it is good to see what honor, leadership, valor, and true grit and brotherhood are all about. This was a great story, these guys are heroes, and I respect, give thanks, and honor to them.
4)Jack's Life: The Life Story of C.S. Lewis, by Douglas Gresham - Here is the life story of a man who became one of the greatest minds of the 20th century. I am about 3/4 of the way through it right now, and it is very inspiring to see someone, ordinary like you and me, take on the challenges of daily life with gusto. I also reccomend ANYTHING on Jesus by C.S. Lewis.
5)Every Man's Battle and Every Young Mans Battle by Stephen Arterburn, Fred Stoeker. EMB is all about dealing with sexual temptation. I am sure many marriages have been saved because of this book! There are many strategies contained within as well as knowledge and understanding. (The wisdom comes with the choices we make!). EYMB is mainly on masturbation. I have read both but I felt a little too old for EYMB. Naybe it is good to read, because it goes into the topic of masturbation in detail and how to fight it.
6)Fight - Kenny Luck. A battle manual for spiritual warfare, this is one book Satan does NOT want you to read! It contains all kinds of info on the enemy and how we are to resist him. (Resist the devil and he will flee from you - that is Scripture!). Great for strategy, it sees the walk of Christianity as a battle - WHICH IT IS! Why do you think my nickname is ManOWar?
Anyways, I hope and pray this list of books helps somebody. They have all touched my life and given me strength for this war I am waging.
God Bless you all!
