I wanted to write this to encourage everyone fighting for freedom in the area of masturbation. I have been free of of for a little over a month now. It's not a long long time, but it's progress for me. Something I have learned is that life is SOOOOO much better without it. I have found so much more joy an happiness in my heart. My mind feels so much more peacful; like I can have thoughts without them being interrupted with lust and shame. It's a lot easier to be around other people, to open up, to hang out, to laugh or whatever it is that I'm doing. I was often feeling depressed when I was trapped in the cycle of daily masturbation. And I didn't realize at the time that the depression was stemming from masturbation. This isn't to say that when you get rid of masturbation in your life everything will be perfect, there were other problems causing that depression as well, but you will definatly be suprised at how much better life will be without it, as I have been suprised. Small, daily things that I once enjoyed until masturbation took over my life, I am now enjoying again. And to feel free from the shame an condemnaion that that sin brings forth feels so liberating. It's encouraged me to seek out the best in myself and to persue God in a deeper and more intimate relationship.
I'm not saying this to brag or to make some huge point of my progress, but rather to encourage you to get this thing out of your life as soon as possible, with God's help of course. I couldn't have guessed how much differant hinge would be without masturbation. I feel like I'm getting to know who I truly am again, and it's wonderful. And seriously, if I can do it, you can. I'm just a young teenager fighting this with Gods enourmus help and grace. I couldn't make it one day free of this without him, so please, don't even try to fight this in your own strength, but rather give it to God and dot listen to the lies of the devil who tries to make us think that God is ashamed of us or angry with us. That is nothing but bull crap. God loves us and despised shame on the cross. He wants to see us free. Yes he hates the sin, but since when did we become sin? Sin is something in us, not who we are. If a child plays in a bee's nest and gets stung, do the parents hate the child or the bee for stinging it? Yes, the child shouldn have been playing in the bees and should have known better, but if we learn from our mistakes and go to God with a humble heart and being truly sorry and turning from our sin, he will forgive us.
He understands if we mess up. He doesn't care about how many times we fail, He cares about if we're really trying. And I know that many of you on this site are trying your best to get free, and God admires that. Just seek God for help and grace in becomming free from this addiction, it is possible.
