The instruction of the LORD is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. The precepts of the LORD are right, making the heart glad; the command of the LORD is radiant, making the eyes light up. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are reliable and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold— than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb. In addition, your servant is warned by them, and in keeping them there is an abundant reward.
One of my favorites telling me about the surpassing value of Scripture in my life. Psalm 19:7-11 CSB

Busy day today, which is a good thing. This morning my attention was drawn to Jesus' promise to send the Holy Spirit after he left. Actually in at least one place He tells us He Himself will come to us, reminding that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ.
The Amplified translation of John 14:16 helps us understand the ministry of the Spirit to us:
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—
What a promise!

Bible study last night focused on our being part of a local church body. We cannot go it alone in this battle! True, we don't go into detail like we do here, but we are much stronger together. We cannot do this alone. Others also have their struggles, just as difficult as our own.
The emphasis was Ephesians chapter 4, part of which says,
17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. 19 They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. 20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

"Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel," -Phil 1:27 CSB
Same idea... being a lone wolf won't work!

Amen, thanks for sharing. Today, I had the desire to call my family and I'm glad I did. I also have been trying to connect with other believers these days.

"Surely you desire integrity in the inner self, and you teach me wisdom deep within." -Psalm 51:6 CSB
I went to Men's Breakfast at our church, a ministry they're re-starting as Covid wears off (hopefully). Our youth pastor was there, and we had a good discussion of understanding and relating to our youth. Key: let them see we really care about them.

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." -1 Peter 2:9 ESV

A brother gave it to me and it helps me and I'm glad it's helping you too. I need God all the time. I can't do it on my own.

"3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds." -2 Cor 10:3-4 ESV
What weapons did Paul have in mind? I know that I have Christ Himself living in me, in the person of the Holy Spirit. He is right here to strengthen and encourage. And I have God's powerful promises.
3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. (2 Peter 1:3-4) (ESV)
Being retired, I don't have to get lunch at a restaurant by myself. My temptation is more likely come during alone time when my wife is not here. When I was working, we all wore uniforms because it was a medial facility. Thank you Jesus.

I was kind of discouraged this AM. Coming here helped.

"But you, man of God, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness." (1 Tim. 6 :11 CSB)
Flee! Don't leave a void; here are the things to put in the place of Satan's agenda! I find that my daily Bible reading is a big help with that.
