Here's my Narrow-Door Challenge for this week!
PRAYER MTWJF D BIBLE MTWJF D WORSHIP W F D PRAY W/WIFE D FAMILY M J SD READ MT SD CLEAN M WJ D WORKOUT D OUTREACH D FORUM MTW D NO RELAPSE MTWJFSD
41 points. Now, that's not a great week. But one thing that I'm really proud of is today, Sunday(Domingo), August 7th, I had a perfect day! Eleven points today, including a workout. I've not had a perfect day like this throughout the past several years.
That's what I need to be doing more often. And it wasn't so difficult as long as I got up early enough to get a lot of this stuff done promptly. It makes my day so much easier when I start feeding my soul and spirit with prayer, reading the Bible, and worshiping right from the start. I did a workout after church. And this time, I didn't strain myself. I'm getting older, and I just can't jump into a full workout without expecting strain and injury. So I did a light workout with lots of stretching. I don't want to injure my back like last time. Once I get more regular with my workouts, my body will start to work again.
My soul and spirit needs daily feeding, a lot of it. If I continue to demonstrate walking in the spirit, I will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

My Narrow Door challenge: OK, let's look at the narrow door challenge. The moment I started reading, my mind started running. Problem is though, Jesus seems to be on the outside of the door.
Rev 3:20 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.'
Now, normally we like to share this verse with non-believers. But it is not (And I repeat; it is not for them, but to us.) That door reminds me of yet another set of verses;
Mat 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. Mat 7:14 "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.'
Now to what state of affairs do we find ourselves in? If you are anything like me, and following so much teaching from the Church these days, it's as if sin no longer has the sting it should have. . Once Saved . I think I'm going to do a little more soul-searching. And for myself I think Pawson is a good place to start, at least for me. Virgil.

You know I keep looking at the different challenges I've run across over the years and it dawned on me that scripture has already given us a challenge if we'ed only look at it.
Walk in Love Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; Eph 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Eph 5:3 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; Eph 5:4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. Eph 5:5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Eph 5:7 Therefore do not be partakers with them; Eph 5:8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light Eph 5:9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), Eph 5:10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Eph 5:11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; Eph 5:12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. Eph 5:13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. Eph 5:14 For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you." Eph 5:15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, Eph 5:16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Eph 5:17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Eph 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, Eph 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; Eph 5:20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; Eph 5:21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. Wives and Husbands Eph 5:22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. Eph 5:24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, Eph 5:26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, Eph 5:27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. Eph 5:28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; Eph 5:29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, Eph 5:30 because we are members of His body. Eph 5:31 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. Eph 5:32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. Eph 5:33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband. (NASV)
Walk in Love Eph 5:1 Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children Eph 5:2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph 5:3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Eph 5:4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. Eph 5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Eph 5:7 Therefore do not be partners with them. Eph 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light Eph 5:9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) Eph 5:10 and find out what pleases the Lord. Eph 5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Eph 5:12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. Eph 5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. Eph 5:14 This is why it is said: "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Eph 5:15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, Eph 5:16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Eph 5:17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Eph 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, Eph 5:19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, Eph 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives and Husbands Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Eph 5:24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her Eph 5:26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, Eph 5:27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Eph 5:28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. Eph 5:29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— Eph 5:30 for we are members of his body. Eph 5:31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." Eph 5:32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. Eph 5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (NIV)
I went ahead a ran these verses from two different translations just to show that in God's word it acts as a reflection in a mirror of our daily walk. And that leads to the question as to how is my reflection? Not so good. I will point out that these verses also pertain to our spouses. Just something to think about. I know I do. Virgil

Well, it's not been one of my best weeks. Didn't work out, didn't read with the girls, didn't pray with my wife at all. I want to be better with this. I want to demonstrate more love for myself. And I want to be the father and husband that my family needs me to be. Seeing this is a wake up call for me.

35 points.
I was real concerned throughout the week about my to-do list. I know that I had some pretty bad days. 😞
I'm glad it's not worse. Today, I took advantage of the Sunday to get almost everything checked off, including a workout. So I'm off to a really good start.
This checklist happens to be a really good indicator of how I'm progressing in my recovery. I don't measure my progress based upon my sobriety. That happens to be a really poor measurement of how well I'm actually doing.

42 I made some adjustments. My teeth need better care and I've been getting behind in paying the bills. Honestly, I get caught into my forums and fail to prioritize my time.
