2 corinthians 10;3-5 3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) 55 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Yesterday I increased in Wisdom, I kind of wish I would have known this a long time ago. Without knowing I already had some traits of this. I will share with you all the notes from my impromptu bible study. The book called Conversation Peace.
The first thing they talked about was Haste(rushing into things) Ep 4:2
Haste = over estimated abilities Pride = over confident has a barrier toward understanding. James 1:19
Three failures regarding haste 1. failure to listen ( restrain your assumptions) 2. Speech (Restrain your words) 3. Anger (restrain emotional responses)
A person living hastily will not ask God and will quickly respond. This can lead to errors in judgement. A person who is wise will ask for clarification and inquire (asking lots of questions).Yesterday I increased in Wisdom, I kind of wish I would have known this a long time ago. Without knowing I already had some traits of this. I will share with you all the notes from my impromptu bible study. Proverbs 25:7-8
Proverbs 15:28 Righteous will think before speaking but evil will pour out words.
Prov. 10:19 When there are many words sin is unavoidable. There is a time to speak and a time for silence.
Restrain Anger(Ephesians 4:26-31
Bad traits:X Pride Rights violated needs unmet sinful attitude bitterness Brawling Malice Slander destructive speech
Exonerated Presumptuousness.
A few more scriptures on the subject: Prov 12:16, prov 12;23, prov 20;13,prov 29;11 Good; ignore, conceal knowledge, aloof from strife, hold back with a quiet spirit. Bad; Venting,Announcing and proclaiming folly, quarreling, venting of spirit. God wants us to be calm abiding under/ with long suffering. (No complaining). Bear up/ not letting it bring you down waiting with self disciplined calmness. Diligence, perseverance and Merciful self restraint. The kindness of God leads to repentance. Blessed are the Peacemakers.
verse on purity Psalm 119;9-16

Warning against Idleness
2 Thessalonians 3:10
10.For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 11.For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.…
I had my mother in law visit and she mentioned this and I thought it is a great scripture and many people think its just a saying but it is a serious scripture that is included in the word to give us a guide to life. God doesn't want us to be lazy in our spiritual lives either he would like us to make ourselves busy reading his word, praying for one another, becoming disciplined in all manner in life. If we sow nothing we reap nothing and then we go hungry that is my take. We want to flourish in our spirit then its time for more of God.

I want to take the opportunity to publicly thank Joyful in the beginning I had a hard time with Anger and she guided me to some good resources and also sent me a book that on the first chapter already made an impact in my life and my children. The book is called, The heart of Anger, I think that the first chapter which is what I have read so far since I decided to make it a bible study with a friend and now its grown to three of us total. Has already stood out to be helpful with my daughter who was displaying some anger issues too. I am so glad I decided to read it out loud and she decided to stick around and listen. I went on to explain it to her she is seven going on eight next month. One of the helpful verses is found in Proverbs 29:22 An angry man (woman) stirs up strife, and a hot-tempered man(woman) abounds in transgression"
Another is found in Proverbs 22:24-25 "Do not associate with a man given to anger: or go with a hot tempered man, lest you learn his ways, and find a snare for yourself".
How to determine if its anger? here is a list that can help.
Outburst of anger(temper tantrums) Argumentation ( quarrelsome debates) Disrespect Fighting (violence) Animosity Cruelty strife (antagonism) acts of vengeance Malice Bitterness Discouragement (apathy and indifference)
What happens to a person who continually yields the members of his body to a particular sin? He becomes a slave to the sin by which he chose to be mastered. Rom 6:16
According to scripture, when an individual continually gives himself over to a particular sin, he eventually becomes bound by that sin( Romans 6:16, John 8:34, 2Peter 2:19).
When I read this I can put one and two together it is not just anger but any sin and if sin is measured with the same stick then what we are doing is trading one sin for another. When we become angry and unforgiving and resentful and bitter we give in to a different sin to build roon within us and so we are no better than a sex addict ourselves. We need to get free from the hold anger can have on us so we can heal. One thing is to allow ourselves our feelings and another is to be controlled by them. It is easy to get caught up in our selves and our emotions and lose ourselves and our dignity. I hope you are all motivated to pick up a copy great book. Anger hits all of us not just children and even thought this book is geared toward children some of us specially on this forum because of our difficulties harbor anger and it can destroy us just like porn can destroy our husbands.

This morning I read in my OYB (1 yr Bible) Joshua 24:15 Choose you this day whom ye will serve: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
I am reminded that no matter how my marriage turns out, I want to my home to serve the LORD.
Thanks for all the good verses Wilting Iris.

Stev,
That's true. The Bible says to, "Be angry, yet do not sin."
