This may seem a little corny but some words that has helped bring some accountablility to me during this struggle: From Castng Crowns "But the giant keeps on calling me and he laughs at me, reminding me of all the times I"ve tried before and failed, the giant keeps on telling me time and time again boy you"ll never win....But the voice of truth tells me a different story, the voice of truth says this is for my glory"The giant has defeated me time and time again but oh if I would listen to the voice of truth. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwsvqVmFV6Y

And some more words of encouragement from the Freemans:
"If I hold fast to the foot of the cross I'll be washed in it's life cleaning flood, and If I stay on my knees when satin wants me then he'd have to walk through the blood"
It is all about the cross!

Again I realize quoting song lyrics in this forum may seem a little corny to some but I came home this evening after a long day at work with every intention to seek out pornograhy but I went to youtube instead and found accountability in these songs and also in this forum. I am ceratinly not nieve enough to think doing this is the ultimate fix and there is no need for human accountability partners but little things like songs can certainly be a encouragement when you are struggling.

Hi LSmith,
Nothing corny about music! I often find that it brings me to my knees faster than many sermons. The Psalms are full of songs, some of praise, some of encouragement, and others of desperation and repentance. Though there is no divinely inspired book of New Testament Psalms, the human inspired ones fill many of the needs of our hearts.

Thanks Truthseeker. I failed miserably one night last week after my wife and daughter went to the beach and my son was with a friend.  Home alone is not good!!!  I am home alone again tonight but so far am I have my refuge in God and song, Â
From Toby Mac:
-Father God I am clay in your hands and I want to stay that way through all life's demands
-cause they chip and they pull and they nag at me and every little thing I make up my mind to be
-like I am gonna be a daddy that's in the mix and I am gonna be a HUSBAND THAT STAYS LEGIT
-and I pray that I am an artist that rises above the road that is wide and filled with self love
-everything that I see draws me, though it is only in you that I can truly see that its a feast for the eyes and a low blow to purpose and I'm a little kid in a three ring circus....
I DON'T WANT TO GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSE MY SOLE

Hi LSmith,
Have you tried putting pictures of your family either as wallpaper for your computer, and/or prominently on your desk, say flanking the monitor?

I do have a family picture as my wall paper but I usually log in under guest mode that does not have wall paper on the desktop however I guess I should download the family picture there too. I would delete the "guest" user account but I use it also to log in here because although I know I am gonna eventually have to tell my wife of my problems I am not ready for that now.
I am by myself again but just got back from church and feel safe and have no urges but would welcome your prayers just in case. The one night I mentioned last week there were alot of contributing factors other than just my family being gone that made me very vulnerable. Not an excuse but I should have never turned on the PC that night. Sometimes I want to just take a sledge hammer to my hard drive like in the movie "Fireproof" but I doubt that would go over well with the wife and kids.

Just wanted to encourage you to take this walk one day at a time. Come closer to the Lord and let Him complete the work He has in you by His grace.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Been porn free going on two weeks if I make it a couple more days. I have had alot of financial things come up that I had to deal with that has kept my mind occupied. Not good things but I guess could be a blessing in disguise. Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement.
I have been getting alot of hints about surrendering lately from in my preachers sermons to a book I am reading. That is so hard!!!! I am realizing that even if I never view another porn image I still have a long ways to go. My mind still goes places I don't want it to go. Everytime I see girls in public my eyes still automatically go to the breast. Please keep me in your prayers.

I will continue to pray for you. Just like you, I have struggled with porn for many years. I have learned to take one day at a time. So, don't worry about tomorrow. Just deal with today. As far as looking at looking at the females; I can relate. I have learned not to keep my eyes on certain parts of the female body. I 'bounce" my eyes. Of course, this is all done by the grace and power of God. Here is a website that I think will help you, www.covenanteyes.com. This site offers software that will not only monitor your activity on the Internet, but also let you be accountable to someone. They also have a excellent blog called Breaking Free. This blog have many bible lessons on how to stay free and how porn and really mess you up. Keep in mind, these are tools that you use on your journey to freedom. A genuine close relationship with the Lord Jesus will bring you the freedom you desire. As you keep pursuing Jesus, your intense desire for porn and masturbation will eventually go away. That's not to say you won't be tempted. You will. But you can "do all things through Christ, who gives you strength". Again will be in prayer for you.

I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin up on that cross"
We have sung that Chris Tomlin hymn a lot in my church. It's a good hymn and there are hundreds more to worship God.

DC TALK:
I am the king of excuses. I've got one for every selfish thing I do. Tell me whats going on inside of me? I despise my own behavior. This only serves to confirm my suspicions I am still a man in need of a savior. I want to be in the light
