Amen! The beautiful fruit of the Spirit, in stark contrast to the horrible list of things immediately before that, the works of the flesh. Ugly horrible stuff.
And, obviously, WE can't bring forth that fruit; the Holy Spirit is right here with us to produce it if we simply get out of the way, remember and meditate on His promises, and let Him do what He alone can do.

Amen, what He alone can do. Amen, mediate on His Word. Today, I read and studied a little of Pslam25 from a Study Bible I have. It has a lot of good notes and good help to see what David was saying and why. David hoped in God and says many times to 'let me not be put to shame'. The enemy wants to keep us bound in shame after we did lust/sin/sexual immorality. The right shame will lead us to 1 John 1:9 to confess and also Proverbs 28:13 to confess and forsake our sins, and when we trust and hope in God, He promises to be merciful to the humble, God can make us humble and that is good. Now the Devil LIES and says' No Christians you still have some left over shame, you still have this and this, and to the world, they call it toxic shame, but if we deal or have already deal with the real shame biblically according to the Word of God, then the devil (we know to be a liar), is only trying to bring us down. David prayed, 'let me not be put to shame' and the devil knows this and tries hard with anything sexual fantasies, TV, women around us, to make us look and split second and feel shame shame shame, oh the shame, never ending shame, (buzzer sound, WRONG). All my sins and your sins were paid for at the cross, devil, in the name of Jesus, get thee behind me. Lord, please let me not be put to shame. This kind of stuff we see in Pslams 25 and all in the Bible. Here is Pslams 25, I love it when I read it today. Amen.
'To You, O Lord , do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; may I not be ashamed; may my enemies not triumph over me. Yes, let none who wait on You be ashamed; let them be ashamed who transgress without cause. Make me to know Your ways, O Lord ; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. Remember Your mercies, O Lord , and Your lovingkindness, for they are from old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to Your lovingkindness remember me, on account of Your goodness, O Lord . Good and upright is the Lord ; therefore He will teach sinners in the way. The meek will He guide in judgment, and the meek He will teach His way. Turn to me, and be gracious to me, for I am isolated and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. Look on my pain and misery, and forgive all my sins. Consider my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred. Watch over my life, and deliver me! Let me not suffer shame, for I seek refuge in You. When David says things like "Make me to know Your ways, O Lord ; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. " I think, God is all I need, and the Word of God.
When David says "on account of Your goodness, O Lord" that is good because it's not on my account that I am requesting help but "because God is good, Lord, please help me" not "God, I did that, so .." no but God is good, so please help me God. 
Notice this one "therefore He will teach sinners in the way. " God (He) will teach (you and me) in what? THE WAY. Jesus said in 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life" < that is ANOTHER reason why I despise all secular recovery (12 steps). I know are Christians in there but if we deny God over putting 'mans' teaching (like what the Pharisees did and the Lord Jesus rebuked them for it), we will fall into the same trap and God is a deliverer out of traps and that. This is my thinking.
David says "My eyes are ever toward the Lord" < not on women, not on getting some advantage from them, not on pleasing my body, not on "my present arousals", not on my sexual fantasies, no on me, but on the Lord. This is why I like to look up to the sky or close my eyes and think of God and His Word. Maybe you do something similar too.
Dear Jesus, please help us today, please give us fillings of your Holy Spirit. Please help our spirits and mind to be at peace and calms and not worried. In Jesus' name. Amen.
