I’m more into books now, having (had to!) quit audiovisual entertainment for my sobriety (it was SOOOOOOOOO worth the trade!) It means I’m getting through more books. In case anyone is interested thought I would post what I’m reading at the moment on here : )
Before listing the first one can I recommend reading this article by Chuck Pierce and Robert Heidler: www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=8617. Honestly, reading this article (can't exactly explain why) had the single biggest positive effect on my recovery from porn addiction of any resource.
Here's some other books that have a particular positive effect on my Christian walk over the years:
"Why I Got Out of the Contemporary Christian Music Movement" by Dan Lucarini "School of Obedience" by Andrew Murray "The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan "What Love Is This" by Dave Hunt (about Calvinism)
"The Normal Christian Birth" by David Pawson "Sexual Healing" by David Kyle Foster "Victory Over The Darkness" & "The Bondage Breaker" by Neil T. Anderson "Be Filled Now" and "The Calvary Road" by Roy Hession "Autobiography" by George Muller "Chasing The Dragon" by Jackie Pullinger
Right now I'm reading "God's Remedy For Rejection" by Derek Prince

I recently read Atomic Attraction by Christopher Canwell. This is not a Christian book, but it's message is so significant to me that I'm choosing to read it again now.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert Glover.
This is another non-Christian book yet it describes me exactly to a "T". And as I'm reading it, I'm inspired to make some dramatic life changes.
God is good. He's making me aware of some incredible inner child wounds that have not been addressed. And they explain why I'm not able to break free of my desire to fornicate myself.

So awesome! I truly believe the inner healing is where we really break the power of this evil addiction. And it's God's love for us that heals our inner selves.
Currently reading: "The Prayer of Jabez" by Bruce Wilkinson

Just read "Early Christian Writers" edited by Andrew Louth. Wow such an amazing resource. I love the Epistle of Barnabas and do believe it was written by Barnabas the right-hand man of Paul. Such a different style to Paul's writings. Paul is gung-ho, Barnabas is gentle, highly intelligent, encouraging and easy to read. Also the Didache - written before 70 AD as a 'manual' for Christians. Love it!
