Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11 - NKJV
We can do this! Why? Cause God said so.
Have a blessed Sunday SBG!

we have to. Just driving the car today, had improper thoughts so I confessed those, rebuked it, and thought of God and His promises and God make my heart sad and desiring for God again. This is like our key verse for Christians.

Yes, learning to nip it in the bud. I must learn to do this.
Being tempted is not a sin; we must immediately turn to God. Like the old saying, from many years ago....
You can't keep a bird from lighting onto your head, but you can keep it from building a nest there!

Computer password changed. I can now not enter this device at all without a statement that reminds me that Jesus is Lord of my life.
My phone: I cannot now use it without entering a code that reminds me that God is faithful to His promises and that there is no situation too difficult for Him.

Hi savedbygrace, If I knew the password to my computer, I would be a goner. I hope your idea helps you more than it would me. Reading back in your posts, I think I recall that you gave Covenant Eyes a try, but then later uninstalled it after getting "lit up" a few times. One of my buddies was having similar issues with self control so he took advantage of a CE feature by handing over his filter settings to another ally. In other words, if he wants to visit a porn site, his ally would have to update the settings. And that's not gonna happen. 🤣 He's been doing so much better now.

With this laptop, I must log in often; it quickly shuts down when not used.
When I log in now, I am, through the password, declaring the lordship of Jesus over my life. With my phone, it requires me to use a passcode that pulls me back to very strong Bible promises.
I continue to start my day with prayer and something from God's Word. Absolutely vital for me.

Our Daily Bread for today....https://odb.org/2020/03/25/its-time-to-pray-again
The armor of God includes a call to prayer! When I speak with God, I can tell him my frustration and discouragement over my constantly repeating cycle of victory and defeat. I can know that He hears and cares. That He is with me in the battle each and every day.
Paul describes the forces of evil arrayed against us. So TRUTH is vital in this battle.
I am to be strong IN THE LORD AND IN THE STRENGTH OF HIS MIGHT. Satan and all his evil angels crumble before Him.
Righteousness - the simple choice to obey God. Vital
Shoes - the Good News of peace with God gives us a sure-footedness or readiness or preparation.
Faith: I must believe God's promises!!!
I am to put on salvation as a helmet. I am saved, but I am to wear it and never forget it!
I am to use the short sword of God's Word, its promises, commands, encourgement.
And as I go, praying at all times, in every situation, and be alert and persistent in it for all believers everywhere... for my brothers and sisters right here in this group for example.

One step down this AM in reducing my coffee addiction!
This morning I was reminded of why Jesus came....
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they might have life, and have it abundantly." -John 10:10 NAS

Joshua 3:10-11 NIV
10 This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites. 11 See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.

John 14:18-23 (ESV)
18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" 23 Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Before destruction my heart was proud but humility comes before honour Proverbs 18:12
Pride is such a stronghold in my life. Funny thing is the more I deny it, the more it rears it's ugly head. I convince myself it isn't a problem because my pride isn't an arrogant pride that is loud and boastful - it's a pride that kind of stays under the radar but is every bit as destructive. I had a relapse as I headed into the weekend but in shining a light on my pride and weakness by confessing to others as hard as that has been - God has truly followed His word from this verse - He has given me the opportunity to help others at the most unexpected time from the most unexpected source. Humbling and sobering but bringing my heart back into thankfulness from shame!

Hi Arctic, and welcome!!!
From my reading this AM---
John 21:5-6 (NIV) 5 He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. 6 He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
Jesus started this conversation. And they had done no special act of faith or obedience to deserve what He was about to do. Jesus simply had a BIG lesson to teach them!
Will I learn how great my God is in comparison to my need?
