A very familiar promise, yet its truth saved me early this AM.
"Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
James 4:7-8 from the CSB, although I think the KJV says essentially the same.
Thank you Jesus for your help this day!

It is said, Idleness is the Devil's workshop, and it is true. So the totally exhausting day I have had today is a great blessing!
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; (1 Peter 2:9)

God has not promised that every day will go smoothly and nicely; He wants us to trust Him through trials.
But today, for me, things went well! God is guiding me, and the day went well. Thank you Jesus!!

Amen. I want to make this promise one of my key promises. If I lose my mind and forget everything else, I want to at least remember this one. God help us remember it. Thank you Jesus.

Monday!!!
“You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." (Matthe 5:14-16 from the CSB)
May I be that light today.

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." -James 1:2-4 ESV
Steadfastness! That's what we all seek, right? So here is God's way of getting there - proving Himself faithful to strengthen us through all kinds of difficulties.

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Rom. 8:11-15 (ESV)
This is only done BY THE SPIRIT! And He's with me every moment to help me! Gotta remember this. It is only the spirit of slavery that leads me back into fear, and worry, and everything that drags me down.

Monday!
A favorite promise came to my attention again:
His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.
2 Peter 1:3-4 (CSB)

In Psalm 18 and 2 Samuel 22, David celebrates God coming through for him in a great victory. Maybe God is giving this to us twice because it's that important! Here's a little portion of it.....
"He rescued me from my powerful enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support. He brought me out to a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me." ---2 Samuel 22:18-20 from the CSB
Between Satan and all his hosts and my own deeply ingrained sin nature... yes, they are all too strong for me!
BUT WAIT! Jesus has promised to never leave me or forsake me. I have His Spirit within to comfort and strengthen. THANK YOU JESUS!!!

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14 ESV)
Jesus. God with us. God with me. In the Person of the Holy Spirit. My Comforter and Strengthener.
It's a good day. God's timing evident in an amazing way.
