Probably the standard text about confessing our faults and sins to one another, like we do here, is James 5:16, which goes on to say, "AND PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER, THAT YOU MAY BE HEALED. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16b ESV, emphasis mine.
Of course, I would say, "I'm not very righteous" but maybe I should let God be the judge of that, and just pray!

To my 3x5 card for today....
"This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses....So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." -Heb. 4:15-16 NLT
Remember the story of Esther? In her desperate need she approached the king, even though it was against the law to do so. But he graciously welcomed her, his queen.
WE, on the other hand, don't need to fear at all; we just walk right in at any time of day or night!!!!

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as [f]the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
This is our battle. Let's put that new man on that God has given us in Christ Jesus. Always a choice.
Keep pressing forward brother! We are already on the winning side!

Thank you my brother! Still doing OK, thanks to God!
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Jesus, quoted in Matthew 11:29 (NIV)

I post Scriptures about God's mighty power to help us be strong, and others exhorting us to trust and obey Him, but now hereis one about WHO HE IS!!!
Jeremiah 10:6-7 New Living Translation LORD, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power. Who would not fear you, O King of nations? That title belongs to you alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like you.

Monday!
This promise reminds me of Psalm 1. I want to be that tree planted by, and gaining strength from, the living waters.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 English Standard Version “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

2 Thessalonians 2:15-17 New Living Translation
With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.
Thank you Jesus for your precious promises!

Amen, I was reading today's verse on the Bible app and it was "if God be for us, who can be against us"

Psalm 85:8-9 English Standard Version Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
What needs to happen in our land starts with me.

We voted today! A good feeling! The elections people in this huge metro area are super ready and helpful. Makes me proud and thankful we live here.
An old favorite, but one I so easily forget!.....
Philippians 4:6-7 New International Version Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 9:12-13 English Standard Version But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Thank you Jesus!
