Hi LCG. Welcome to BG. I am glad you finally posted. It takes courage to admit you have a sin addiction and need support from others. I was a slave to p & m myself for many years. Been an overcomer with the Lord's help going on 10 years now. You can do it also. It takes time and we make mistakes while learning how to overcome and follow Christ. Don't give up.

I am thankful you took that step!
I see that Amy is writing a book aimed specially at women. This is much needed!
But in many ways, we're all the same. I pray that you will find help here!

Hello LCG. Thanks for posting. Remember Jesus and He is here to help you. If you have to get offline for a while too that is understandable. There is a book called "every women's battle" and it might help you. Praying for you.

hi guys. sounds like required reading for me. sometimes it's tough when you fall back to square one and like i'm moving backwards. thanks for the support. There are a few things you can do to help you stay on the right track. 1. Stay accountable to someone. 2. Have a prayer partner that will pray with and for you. 3. When tempted go to Christ. 4. When tempted praise and worship God out loud. That will focus your mind on God instead of the sin. 5. Spend time every morning in the bible and praying. 6. Hobbies are great to take your mind off the sin and focus it on something constructive. 7. Exercise also works to get your mind off the sin. 8. When you stumble, pick yourself up and continue the fight. DO NOT let condemnation get a hold of you! 9. Figure out who God sees you as. His view of you will change how you think of yourself. 10. DO NOT give up!

hi Amy,
holding up i guess...i don't exactly have the most discipline when it comes to simple things like staying off my phone or removing certain apps so it's making the process difficult.
i've just been taking the time to look through other people's struggles and it's been helpful, maybe i can find some inspiration there. also having switched to new meds doesn't help the problem!

Are you spending time with the Lord? That is going to be the most helpful in your overcoming journey. It takes time to grow and learn and gain strength through Christ. Getting rid of apps and putting your phone down all take strength and the only way to get that strength is by spending time with the Lord.
You can overcome this. Keep going!

Welcome LCG. Glad your posting and reaching out. This stuff grows and flourishes in secrecy. I would of still been battling with this in secrecy if the Lord had not dramatically brought it out into the light. Just remember your not alone. There are tons of people struggling with this. It's easy to feed because of the tech world we now live in. Just remember,if it wasn't this sin and issue it would be another. We will be fighting against sin till our last breath. But this sin can definitely lead to greater consequences. Amy is a great testimony to leaning on the Lord and God given victory. Stay in contact and may the Lord bless you also with victory!

consider getting a flip phone or using internet only at a place like public for better accountability. I was away from home internet for years and now we have home wifi again. But if temptations rise and I fall, then I'm done. That is how serious this sin problem is.

But if temptations rise and I fall, then I'm done. That is how serious this sin problem is. You will always have to be vigilant. Satan knows our weakness and as soon as you let your guard down, he will hit you with temptation. The best way to keep your guard up is by reading The Word.

Yeah I come in after feeling guilty about the fact that I don't have anything good to report. Thanks for the encouragement though.
