Sunday - the Lord's Day!
My count of days is still low, but that is not the only thing God sees about me!!! I am His precious creation that He loves, not just a big number on my head.
God is the God of hope and encouragement. All of his promises are Yes in Jesus.
2 Corinthians 1:20 English Standard Version (ESV)
For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Ephesians 3:14-21 New Living Translation (NLT)
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

odb.org/2019/08/21/life-changes --- Our Daily Bread for today. My Scripture, from that plus a few more verses: Eph. 4:17-24 Jesus, You're alive and working in the world and in my life and in our church. Help me become more like You day by day as I leave the old self behind. Ephesians 4:17-24 English Standard Version (ESV) Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Psalms 51 and 32 -----
Both from David, and both are about deep sin that David has fallen into. I have no idea if Psa 32 is about the Bathsheba affair, or maybe something else. Doesn't really matter.
They both show how God hears David's heart cry of sorrow and need of forgiveness.
But the last part of Psalm 32 gives us some powerful weapons and promises to deal with further temptations...… Psalm 32:6-11 English Standard Version (ESV)
Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him. You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD. Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

I was in a rush this AM, so went to Our Daily Bread to start my day with God.
Amazing how that little devotional can hit the nail right on the head..... Relax??? With the stress I felt under right then? But God had an encouraging word for me.
I think Psalm 116:1-9 has something for all of us! Here it is, from my "default" translation (ESV)
116 I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. 2 Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. 3 The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I pray, deliver my soul!” 5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; our God is merciful. 6 The LORD preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me. 7 Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. 8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling; 9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

Have a blessed day! (My big battle now is to remember that when that "feeling" comes over me that I think I can't resist, God is still there for me!)
Give a shout out if this creeps up on you brother.

Amen! To God first, and then to others who care and pray for me!
Today, another step down in my caffeine reduction (yes, I really am that hooked on it).

Amen! To God first, and then to others who care and pray for me! Today, another step down in my caffeine reduction (yes, I really am that hooked on it). Awesome! Caffeine is very addicting. I didn't have a choice on giving it up. Mom was having issues with it affecting her a-fib...and now I get sick drinking decaf. So it's decaf tea or water for me.

Wednesday was up and down, but I refuse to give up.

This promise brought me through today --
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
1 Cor. 10:13 NIV

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
