Day 1 again. Getting back up again. My statement of trust: I will learn to do this God's way.

Day 1 was not perfect, but an important step of obedience was taken, so I'm going to count it. Day 2 - yesterday - was a good day. God is merciful. Day 3 - today. God reminded me of his love for sinners come home (Luke chapter 15). A blessed day starting.

My powerful weapons - God's promises
"God is our refuge and strength, A VERY PRESENT HLEP IN TROUBLE." Psalm 46:1
2 Chron. 20:14-15 ESV 14 And the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. 15 And he said, "Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, 'Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.

Remember to put on the full armor of God.
Ephesians 6
The Whole Armor of God 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Yes!!! For today - the preparation of the gospel of peace. My morning Scripture reminded me that God's peace, surrounding me and filling me, is my protection in temptation. I was reading this article: odb.org/2018/04/23/the-secret-of-peace/

God is my place of rest - refuge - and strength.
"In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me! Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress." - Psalm 71:1-3 ESV

God's awesome presence and power..... both for them and for us - portions of Deut. 9 and 10
1 "Hear, O Israel: you are to cross over the Jordan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves, cities great and fortified up to heaven, 2 a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you have heard it said, 'Who can stand before the sons of Anak?' 3 Know therefore today that he who goes over before you as a consuming fire is the LORD your God. He will destroy them and subdue them before you. So you shall drive them out and make them perish quickly, as the LORD has promised you. [9:1-3]
12 "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good? [10:12-13]
17 For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. [10:17]
20 You shall fear the LORD your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him, and by his name you shall swear. 21 He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen. [10:20-21] [all from ESV]

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God's Word is what sustains me day after day!
"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance." -Psalm 89:15
"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." -Isaiah 40:29-31

A beautiful Saturday here. Thank you Jesus!
From God's Word - 2 Tim. 1:7 "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
These are God's gift to me! To replace my fears, He wants to fill me with His strength, His love (without which nothing else matters), and a sound mind (KJV), or self-control (as here with the ESV). With a sound mind I will be in control of my desires and passions. This is God's gift to me.

Lots of stress these days. God is leading us through!
"If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared." -Psalm 130:3-4 ESV
God's grace leads us.... not to continue in sin, but to Godly and holy fear and awe.
