Hey everyone. My name is Christian and I'm new to this page. Recently, I broke up with this girl I was dating. She's a Christian and I personally thought things were going to work out. However, my expectations weren't reached, causing immense disappointment. I've been trying to remain friends with her since we ended on decent terms, but it's been tough. To mask my pain and emotional hurt, I've been succumbing to masturbation, utilizing pornography and old memories of a previous ex I had sexual relations with. Pray that God would deliver and sustain me during this time, so that I may continue to devote myself fully to Him. Also pray that my friendship with my most recent ex would be restored and complete healing on both sides would be achieved. Thank you!

Hi and welcome. First off I would recommend cutting all ties with your exgirlfriend. You need time away from her to heal. You can end it on good terms by just telling her the truth....that it hurts you to be around her right now because you still care for her. That you need time to heal. Hopefully she will respect and understand that and give you the time you need to heal.
Next you need to setup some boundaries for yourself in regards to your porn, masturbation, and fantasy life. I would recommend that you find a couple of male accountability partners...men that are mature in their walk with Christ and will support and advise you on your journey in a biblical way. Once you have some support in place I suggest getting a porn blocking app and making one of your accountability partners admin of it. Your biggest challenge will be to have good coping skills in place for when you feel tempted or have urges. Also be sure you are getting in some good God time every day. Use prayer, bible study, worship...try to talk to Him several times a day on top of prayer, bibles tidy and worship. The key to getting out from under this sin addiction is your relationship with God.
